Beep! Beep! Beep! My alarm screamed at me as if it knew the misery ahead of me. I grumbled to myself, refusing to leave the security of my warm blankets. The thought of Ben lingered in my mind, and an icy shiver vibrated down my spine. My blankets felt warm no longer. I threw the sheets off me, anger bubbling like a boiling kettle, and stomped my way to the wardrobe.

Rainbows of fabric waited patiently in their home, waiting for secrets to unfold. I rubbed my swollen eyes from last night at the apartment bar. I searched furiously through my closet, trying to ignore the galaxy of cute attractive clothes. Aha! There you are! A pair of baggy jeans and a cute New York tank top sat there dusty in the corner. A chest full of memories tugged at me: a cute pink dress with rose flower netting, a silk gala gown hanging neatly ironed, and a prom dress as new as day, moping. "Now is not the time to walk down memory lane," I reminded myself sharply. Whether I did it later or never, I didn't care! Chin high, I swiftly turned away. I was going to start fresh today with a big smile and a kind attitude. That was my goal. And absolutely no thinking about other people. Yet, a single drop of sweat crawled down my forehead, knowing I was going to have a hard time keeping that promise.

I jogged to the nearby cafe for my morning hot chocolate and croissant, bracing my purse and files tightly. With the cafe in sight, I calmed down and started walking to a normal pace. Slip! Suddenly, my paper folder fell out of my arms spitting important contracts and data everywhere, drifting off in the breeze. I fell to my knees, grasping every paper in reach, I looked up, and heard my heart thumping out of my chest. The papers were flying everywhere!

My hands buried in my face, I was sobbing. Just when I was about to give up on the world, a delicate hand was placed on my shoulder. I lifted my head, and expected to see an old woman that was pitying for me, but no, a blonde young man around my age with eyes of deep green stared into my ripped soul, warming it up like a hot chocolate on a cold winter day. Kindness and sympathy drawn all over his cute face. My mind fell into the abyss of admiration, as if the world were fading around me. "Hello? Hello?  Are you ok? Are these your papers?" His sweet voice asked worriedly. My brain snapped back to reality, "Oh. Y-yes, sorry. I'm alright. Th-these are mine, yes. Um, hi. hehe." I responded awkwardly, tripping on my own words, and laughed nervously. The kind young man looked relieved "Oh good. My name is James." James. Huh. What a nice name.  I thought privately. His face looked concerned, was he waiting for something? Oh, oops! My bad!  "My name is Lilly. N-nice to meet you." I replied more confidently this time, "Thanks for helping me, I'd better be on my way." I got up, brushing the dirt off my jeans, and had a last glance at James's beautiful eyes. Stuffed the papers back in the folder, and jogged off to work without a last glance or breakfast.

"Lilly Styles!", a man delightfully greeted me, "Welcome back! How are you?" He asked, a wide smile painted on his face. I hesitated to answer, "Never been better" I smile awkwardly. A flood of embarrassment trickled through me, being addressed by the CEO of Rowanwick Real-state infront of all my colleagues! A slow turn of emotion entered the bosses face. Concern? Worry? Sadness? Anger? I wondered. "I've got news for you!" He returned to his friendly smile, "We have a new recruit interested in helping you! I would like you to give him a tour of the building" he smiles warmly, making my day, "infact, there he is now!" A young man walked confidently in the hall towards us. Beaming green eyes and blonde shaggy hair caught my eye, it was the same man at the cafe!
