PART 1 - THE NEW ROOMMATE
Nevermore Academy had seen its fair share of strange students.
Psychics.
Werewolves.
Sirens.
Vampires.
Even a few students who could turn themselves into things that were better left undescribed.
But that morning, even Wednesday Addams found herself mildly interested when Principal Weems announced there would be a new student joining the academy.
"A transfer student?" Enid asked excitedly as she walked beside Wednesday through the courtyard.
"Apparently."
"Do you know anything about him?"
"No."
"You didn't ask?"
"I didn't care."
Enid sighed.
"Of course you didn't."
They continued toward the main building until they noticed several students gathered near the entrance.
Enid slowed.
"What's going on?"
Wednesday looked toward the crowd.
"A spectacle, apparently."
Then a black car pulled up outside the academy.
The door opened.
A boy stepped out.
Enid stopped walking.
Completely stopped.
Wednesday took another step before realizing her roommate wasn't beside her anymore.
"Enid."
No response.
"Enid."
Still nothing.
Wednesday followed her gaze.
The boy standing outside the car was around their age, dressed almost entirely in black. Dark hair, sharp jawline, pale skin and an expression that suggested he'd already decided he wasn't particularly impressed with anything around him.
He carried one black bag over his shoulder.
No nervousness.
No excitement.
No hesitation.
He simply looked at Nevermore like he'd already been there before.
Enid blinked.
"Oh."
Wednesday looked at her.
"Oh?"
"He's..."
Enid paused.
"Really pretty."
Wednesday stared at her.
"Pretty?"
"Okay, ridiculously pretty."
Wednesday's expression remained completely blank.
"You've known him for approximately four seconds."
"I know."
"And you've already developed an attraction."
"I know."
"Pathetic."
"Shut up."
The boy began walking toward the academy.
