We were all singing and drinking, it was quite quiet as we neared the docks of Roscoff, but this was for Britain and Earth! Suddenly some sort of civilians with gray skin crawled up and ate a seaman as their numbers grew that seaman joined the horde against his brothers, even the French were consumed by the blight.

The fog may have doomed us as we please to endless suffering, as time stretched on, we could see buildings which boosted our morale, but we would see even worse. The French were no longer there defending for the yanks.

We reached the docks as we soon got out of the ship, we were attacked by cannibals, and we saw the docks in ruins... It seems we may have to fight our way through, as we climbed down, we were meet with clawing and biting.

The docks are wrecked crowded with those trotters, our own fall and come back up to rip every man limb by limb their eyes red as there blood. We were cowards we tried to leave into the city which wasn't any better the undead filled the streets, waves of water which we couldn't push against.

My Sabre was bloodied with the undead as their bones poked through and yet they marched through us tearing any that are unforeseen to them. Our sapper tried their best, yet it wasn't enough. We arrived pretty late, maybe that's why the shoreline was lost.

The bombers kept exploding our defense as we slowly crumbled to dust as they broke the docks it truly seemed hopeless; we might have to retreat.

We were eventually pushed back on the road as we went up the ladder we ran through the streets before finding a house and taking a short break before an officer commanded us to move through.

The streets were filled with them as they roamed as if they were still human, rarely corpses were found. Burned to the point you could only see black, mangled eaten remains left behind. I was going to stitch up a fellow ranker as I crouched down, I heard panicked screams.

"OUT OF THE WAY, CUIRASSIER!" Patrick yelled at me,

It was already too late as it stabs me in the eye and pulled it out, my lads crowded the soldier and killed him out of his misery as the metal hit the ground, I felt it was hollow, nothing there as I bandaged it up and stitched the ranker while looking around so it didn't happen again.

We continued to walk through streets till we couldn't since some barricade's stopped us in our track, we looked around but there was... none to follow, back there they'd feast on us till there was nothing left.

"We have nowhere to go." One of the rankers broke the silence,

"We could climb over it." I replied,

"Sorry what?"

I quickly shut it not wanting to embarrass myself in front of these lads' id be stuck in this horrible hell, This stupid scarf... I couldn't abandon it I wouldn't let myself do it. they soon forgot about what I had said.

The others stood like sitting ducks while I did the same, suddenly Patrick suddenly had a idea and looked at us,

"Well... What do you say about climb it?" Patrick asked,

"That's a bloody great idea!" An officer said.

A seaman built the courage to be the first one to go over the top as he held his blunderbuss in his hand for dear life as if the shambler's were on his trail. He scanned over below before nodding at us that it was clear as day.

As more and more of us climbed over I started to make it over the barricades in till I heard those same running footsteps and that bloodthirsty growls as Patrick were knocked to the ground, I managed to stab its head.

I panted as I lay down on top, I didn't hear a horde and before Patrick's bloodied screams echoed against the cage of the sky as they feasted upon him before walking away as he stood up, he wasn't himself gray and pale.
