Fifth shot.
Only one bullet remained in my gun.
I briefly lowered my head before looking back at the man standing in front of me. There was a graze across his shoulder, but the smile on his face was still impossibly wide.
My eyes narrowed as I stared at him.
"Oh~ looks like that big bad can't catch me," he said with a grin.
The corner of my lips lifted slightly. I raised my gun toward the ceiling and pulled the trigger.
He laughed even harder at what I did.
"Are you going crazy? You're not going to catch me now?" he asked, staggering toward me.
I tossed the gun aside and removed my gloves while keeping my eyes on him.
"Sorry. I only grazed you."
My voice was completely indifferent.
I slipped a leather glove onto my right hand and bent down to pick up the briefcase lying on the floor.
His brows furrowed at what I was doing.
"You think you're getting that out of here?" he asked with a laugh.
I simply untied my hair and put on my leather jacket. I avoided his gaze and lowered my head for a moment.
"My child trusted you, Santa."
I ignored him and walked toward the wall.
I kicked it.
The wall suddenly opened, revealing a passage leading directly outside.
His eyes widened at what I'd done before he started laughing again, almost like he'd lost his mind.
"See? She even told you the secret doors," he said desperately.
I tightened my grip on the briefcase and stepped onto the first tile of the secret passage.
I looked at him with no emotion on my face.
"You forgot the three B's in this world, Mister."
I paused.
"Bump. Befriend. Betray."
I pressed the red button that isolated me from the outside of the secret passage.
A bulletproof glass barrier immediately rose between us, just as the remaining members of the clan I'd destroyed arrived.
Among them was the woman they were referring to as my friend.
She stared at me with tears in her eyes.
She had been the longest bait.
It took me three years to earn her trust just enough to finish my mission.
They opened fire on the bulletproof glass, forcing me to slowly step backward and walk away.
I turned my back on them and left the place for good.
That was the last memory I had of the place I once truly loved.
When I stepped outside, I boarded the jet that was waiting for me on the field.
We quickly took off while I held onto the briefcase I'd taken from them.
They tried to take it from me, but I simply pointed the gun I'd picked up from beside the man at them.
They eventually left me alone until we reached headquarters.
I immediately entered the building, with the Blue Scouts following behind me.
