The entire classroom plunged into a stunned, breathless silence the exact second Jennie appeared at the doorway of Class F.

Anticipating this exact moment, Yeji had spent hours meticulously preparing that morning, arriving early and armed to the teeth like a general marching into battle. She had even ironed her designer outfit until not a single microscopic crease remained, fully expecting to reclaim her throne. But the sheer, blinding impact of Jennie's entrance completely obliterated every shred of her grand design.

A few rows over, Jihu had been slouching in his seat, half-expecting some kind of sick joke. But the moment his eyes locked onto Jennie standing in the frame, his hand slipped violently off his propped chin, and his face nearly slammed straight down into his desk. Even so, he didn't blink, keeping his gaze dead-locked on her.

Last night's chaos had happened so fast, through a haze of shock and flashing lights, that he hadn't fully processed reality.

Yet looking at the girl in the striking red dress right in front of him, a sudden, surreal phantom from his past overlapped with her features.

This face of Jennie's—especially framed by the vivid, daring red dress—bore an uncanny, staggering resemblance to someone buried deep in his memories...

Completely oblivious to Jihu's bewildered, searching gaze, Jennie calmly walked down the aisle, pulled out her chair, and settled into her seat.

When the rest of the class realized that the breathtaking vision sitting beside Jihu was, in fact, none other than Jennie, the room instantly detonated into an uproar of sheer disbelief—

"H-Holy shit! Are you kidding me? She's unreal!"

"This is straight-up illegal. That supposed 'freak' is drop-dead gorgeous! How is she even prettier than she was last night?!"

"Compared to the great school beauty Hwang—my bad, I meant ex-great school beauty Hwang—she's miles out of her league! Is human evolution even allowed to do this?!"

Hearing the wave of gasps ripple across the room—and catching the deliberately emphasized title "ex-school beauty"—Yeji bit down on her lower lip so hard she nearly drew blood, her face twisting in pure, unadulterated venom.

Right on cue, two of Yeji's loyal sycophants sitting in the front rows snapped around, their faces red with fury. "What are you all drooling over?! She's totally mid! Not even close to our Yeji!"

"Exactly! What kind of trash taste do you guys have? Falling over yourselves for a cheap vixen like her!"

A boy three rows back leaned forward, flashing a grin. "Well, you know what they say—jealousy makes people age like milk!"

One of the girls screeched, "Who are you calling ugly?! You're the one who's hideous! Your whole bloodline is hideous!"

"Whoever's barking back is the ugly one—and legally blind, to boot!"

"You little—"

While the room dissolved into a petty, bickering warzone, Jennie calmly reached down to slide her textbooks into her desk drawer. Halfway through, the books jammed hard against something bulky.

She frowned. What's this?

Did someone leave trash in her desk again?

Jennie ducked her head, peering into the dark cavity of the compartment. Instead of the usual hostility, her eyes landed on a chaotic pile of brightly colored items...

A mountain of scented love letters, imported chocolates, foil-wrapped candies, and small trinkets.

She blinked, entirely overwhelmed.

In the old days, opening her desk usually meant bracing for a dead rat, a jar of stinging caterpillars, or a bag of rotting garbage. This sudden influx of teenage romance felt like a glitch in the simulation.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a certain silver-haired delinquent staring right at her. This time, however, she didn't flinch or look away.

After all, her debt to society and her own chaotic karma were already so astronomically high she barely had room to care anymore.

Jihu clicked his tongue, a smirk playing on his lips. "Tsk, look at you."

Ignoring him entirely, Jennie grabbed an empty canvas tote bag, scooped out the entire haul of love letters and sweets in one swift, unceremonious motion, and finally shoved her heavy textbooks into the cleared space.

Then, turning her head slowly, she leveled a withering glare at him. "Do you have something you want to say, or do you just enjoy breathing my air?"

Jihu propped his head in his hand, leaning in with an expression of profound, theatrical pity. "You know, if you'd just dropped the ugly act a little sooner, you could've saved yourself three years of getting tormented."

Jennie rolled her eyes so hard it looked painful. "As long as my baby likes it. For my baby, I'd willingly dress up as a terrifying corpse-bride if that's his aesthetic, let alone pretend to be plain. Now leave me alone!"

My baby...?!

Hearing Jennie casually drop that nauseating pet name for Lisa, Jihu gagged so violently he looked like he might actually cough up a lung. "You—"

Jennie arched a single, perfectly sculpted eyebrow, her face radiating a bright, blinding sunshine smile. "What about me?"

Jihu clutched his chest dramatically. "You—you're completely lost to the dark side! Disrespectful to your elders and utterly shameless!"

Jennie: "..."

Oh, wow. He's actually ruthless. Since he couldn't attack her terrifyingly unfair looks anymore, he decided to launch a direct psychic assault on her emotional maturity!
