Sasha x Jack

About: forbidden lust, age gap

"I hate my dad,"
Lola said casually, breaking the silence in her vast bedroom. Her green eyes still locked on her phone.
I looked up from my book to the girl lying on a queen size bed across from the bean bag I was sitting on. "Which one?" My question caused a chuckle from Lola.
"The biological one," she rolled her eyes teasingly as if saying, 'It was obvious'.
We'd been friends since high school. We knew each other's darkest secrets to the point that it tied us together as strong as our friendships. I guessed I could say I knew everything about her... but there was one thing she didn't know about me.
"Why?" I put a bookmark on my book while observing her facial expression. Apart from not being around much after divorcing her mom, Mr. Anderson had given everything to his only daughter. We were in the university now. I had to share a dorm with other two roommates while she got her own fancy apartment which she usually invited me to sleep over if there was no boys around.
From my side, she had everything I'd ever wanted; to never be stressed about my finance, to have a clean and comfortable place of my own, to have someone to love and care for, and to have a father.
"You kidding? He's a control freak. If it wasn't because of him, I wouldn't be stuck here."
Stuck. In a luxury top floor apartment overlooking New York City. I loved Lola. I adored this girl dearly. But sometimes, I couldn't help but thinking how ungrateful she was.
But who knew, there might be someone looking at me and thinking that I was ungrateful as well, to have such an amazing friend, but risking tearing it apart... over my stupid desire.
"I should've dropped out and go to Asia with Mike. Also, my mom just let him do whatever because she's needing his money. She's afraid that he might stop taking care of me once I reached 21."
"Can't you just take a trip during the summer break or something?"
"That's not the point! I hate studying. It's like being put in a box with no windows. Ugh!" She put her phone down and looked at me. "What are you reading, by the way, bookworm?" Lola teased with a grin.
Maybe she was right. As pretty, confident, and rich as her, she probably didn't even need a paper to survive in the world. Unlike me.
"See, I'm not a smartass like you to put up with this bullshit." Lola threw her arms in the air dramatically.
"You know I don't have a backup plan or a safety nest. This is the only way I can secure my future."
"Oh, come on, Sasha, you talk like my dad."
My heart dropped with that remark. "He probably wants you to be his daughter more than me. I'm useless."
"Please don't say that. You're never useless." It was true that we were our own worst critics. Beside, that statement sounded so strange and wrong after what happened last month...

There was a knock on the door.
Lola raised her eyebrow. "Didn't remember inviting anyone."
"I'll go get it." I put my book down and walked to the door beside the kitchenette.
My heart skipped a beat when I looked through the peephole. Not sure if I was afraid or excited... the line between those emotions were too thin for its own good.
A man in a long-sleeve white shirt stood patiently in front of the door. It'd been a month but he still looked the same. His hair was as black as Lola's but silver draped on the sides of his head. His cleanly shaved beard decorated his jaws perfectly. His eyes... I was glad they weren't the same as my friend's, otherwise it'd be strange to look at.
"Who's there?" Lola's voice from behind pulled me out from the trance.
"Your dad." I turned to her.
"Which one?" She made the joke back.
The one I love.
"Mr. Anderson." I replied.
"He's doing that again! Coming here without telling me." Lola got out of the bed with knotted eyebrows. "I bet he came to spy on me if I bring a boy here. You can open it for him. Whatever." She flopped down on the sofa and crossed her legs.
I found my hand slightly shaking when it turned the door handle.
"Hello, Mr. Anderson." I greeted as the door opened.
A flash of surprise crossed his alluring eyes for a millisecond before his lips stretched out to form a smile. As charming as ever... those lips... the taste of weed and cigarette and the sweetness of Sex on the Beach.
"Hello, Sasha. Surprised to see you here." He pulled me into a quick hug. His warmth... his smell... all brought back a memory on that night, in the dim hallway of a bar. There was only an inch between us. I could feel his hot breath on my forehead.
