The elevator opened with a quiet chime.

Nobody looked up. The BAU was too busy.

Case files lingered on every surface, the board full of clues and suspects. A printer groaned somewhere from behind the desks, fighting for its life.  Some were discussing a case;

Then the sounds of boots crossed the floor. The woman wearing them walked into the bullpen in a dark military uniform, her posture straight, her expression unreadable.

She ignored the people turning to look and walked straight for the door with Hotch's name on it.

There was something weirdly out of place about her being in the middle of the BAU. Not because she didn't belong.

Because she looked like she belonged somewhere else completely.

Somewhere where she just had to follow orders instead of looking for a profile.

Rules instead of instinct.  Yet she was send here.

Before she reached the door Sophia looked into the conference room. Six people were working on a profile all of them deep in discussion.

Sophia knocked on the door and waited for an answer.
"Come in," she heard softly.

"Hallo sir," Sophia  began, " I was asked to come and assist you and your team on a case." Hotch still hadn't looked up from his work. It was silent for a good minute before he raised his head. " Ah yes, you must be Sophia Jareau."
"Actually sir it's Dr Sophia Jareau."
"Well Dr Jareau," Hotch started, " it is good that you arrived. It's said that you can help so shall we go. This case should finally after six months come to an end." He sighed the last part tiredly. "Shall I introduce you to the team." He didn't wait on an answer and moved to the conference room Sophia following him confidently.
