All her life Lila Stark has felt out of place, as if she was born in the wrong century and time. Lila, however was no ordinary girl - Lila has the abilities to manipulate emotions and dreams - but also has the ability to heal people's emotions and pain.
This is all proven to her when she finds herself waken up in a different timeline and meets a much younger Professor X. She's not sure how or why she has ended up in the 60s but she can't deny that her and Charles were meant to meet each other. Charles not knowing why is immediately drawn to Lila and finds a way to help her go back to her present timeline but can't help but wanting her to stay. Lost and confused she decides to join forces with him along with the other mutants to help save humanity, all while finding herself falling in love with him, even though she knew she shouldn't.
