Chapter 1: The Rise of the Blue Wave

V. Elburg Crewing Agency - Neo Cebu
In the year 3227, technology has almost no boundaries.
On every street of Neo Cebu, humans and AI humanoids walk side by side. Some are cashiers, waiters, office assistants, mechanics, nurses, and even ship crew members. But despite their almost perfect human appearance, few see them as having any value in their own right.
To most, they are just tools.
Machines that can be bought, commanded, and replaced.
Inside the V. Elburg Crewing Agency, applicants are busy. Seafarers walk around carrying their documents while large holographic screens display ships in need of new crew.
One of the incoming crews is Dyol.
Chief Cook of bulk carrier V. Kingston, thirty years old, humorous, easy to get along with, and known throughout the agency as someone who always has a good joke. But behind the cheerful personality was a man who did not know how to express his true feelings.
As he walked towards the registration counter, he suddenly stopped.
There was a woman sitting in the waiting area.
Her hair was long like flowing silk.
Her skin was fair.
And her eyes...
Blue.
Not just blue.
But blue like the sky after the rain.
"...Terrible..." he whispered softly.
He felt like time had slowed down.
He could not explain why.
He was not into love at first sight.
But at that moment...
It felt like something strange was pulling at his chest.
He walked closer while trying to calm himself down.
"Excuse me..." he said, slightly nervous.
The girl turned around.
Their eyes met.
"Are you applying?"
She smiled modestly.
"Yes, sir. Applying as a Messwoman."
Dyol smiled too.
"Ah... welcome."
A moment of silence.
She didn't know what to say next.
"I'm the Chief Cook at V. Kingston."
"Congratulations."
"Ah... thank you."
They both laughed at the awkwardness of the conversation.
But at that very moment...
Something happened that science couldn't explain.
From Dyol's chest, a gentle blue light came out.
No one saw it.
Security cameras didn't record it.
But the girl saw it clearly.
The blue light was like water slowly flowing towards her.
Her eyes widened.
"What is this...?"
