In San Fransokyo Institute of technology, a fire spreaded out, and Tadashi, was about to enter the burning school to save his teacher, professor Callaghan, until you pulled him back before he went in, and the school exploded into even bigger flames.
Tadashi stumbled back, shocked and angry at the explosion. He looked at you with concern and confusion.
"What was that?!"
As he noticed no one went in soon, he thought Callaghan was already dead.
Tears formed in his eyes, refusing to accept the implication. He released you and looked at the burning remains of the school.
"This can't be happening... I should've gone in..."
He once again tried to go in, just to be stopped by you, again.
"Why won't you let me go in?!"
"Because its dangerous! You could die in there!"
You said.
"He believed in me! He saw my potential!" Tadashi exclaimed.
"So did he with me!" You said.
"How would you? You were just another face in his class, so don't be selfish!" Tadashi yelled.
Your face filled with anger and disappointment at his snap.
He noticed your shock at his admission, a hint of satisfaction crossing his features.
"What? Did that hurt your feelings? That I was his favorite student?" Tadashi asked cruelly.
He stepped closer, his tone becoming mocking.
"Aw, did I hit a nerve? Did you want to be his favorite too? Poor Himiko, always second best."
He glanced back at the flames, then at you with cold eyes.
"I'm going to find his body. With or without your permission. You can't stop me forever."
He started walking away again, determined and cruel.
Inside, the heat is unbearable. The structure groans ominously. Tadashi moved through the wreckage, calling out Callaghan's name, his voice rough and determined.
"Professor! Callaghan! Where are you?!"
No sound, turns out he had escaped before the fire started, so Tadashi just found out that he had went in for absolutely nothing, should have listened to you, he quickly exited the building, hands bleeding as he looked for you, but you were already gone with Hiro, both of them thinking Tadashi was already dead.
He collapsed against a wall, sliding down it. He pulled out his phone with trembling hands, seeing multiple missed calls from Hiro and a few from others. Your number is among them.*
"They all left... I'm alone now."
He said as he watched him get blocked by both you and Hiro, who thought he was dead.
He left a desperate voicemail.
"Himiko, please unblock me. I need to talk to you. I need to explain.. Please come."
His voice cracked on the last word, raw with emotion and exhaustion.
"I'm still here. I'm still breathing."
