Look into the Chapters part One.....(won't be the same as some will not be mensoned again but some might.)
There are moments so quiet that history mistakes them for peace.
This was not one of them.
It began at exactly 8:17 p.m. on an ordinary Thursday in National City.
Kara Danvers was laughing.
She stood in the tiny kitchen she shared with Lena Luthor, unsuccessfully attempting to flip a grilled cheese sandwich while Lena watched from the counter with folded arms and an expression that balanced amusement with absolute confidence in the impending disaster.
"You know," Lena said, "there are easier ways to set off the smoke alarm."
"I've almost got it."
"You've said that three times."
"I mean it this time."
The sandwich folded in half, slipped from the pan, bounced once off the stovetop, and landed squarely on the floor.
Lena burst into laughter.
Kara sighed dramatically.
"I blame Earth's gravity."
"Oh, naturally."
"The pan betrayed me."
"The pan?"
"It has Lex's energy."
Lena laughed harder, walking over and wrapping her arms around Kara's waist before kissing her cheek.
"You save planets," she whispered.
"I do."
"You can fly faster than light."
"I can."
"You once punched an asteroid the size of Manhattan."
"Also true."
"And yet..."
Kara looked down at the ruined sandwich.
"...bread remains my greatest enemy."
"I love you," Lena said.
"I love you more."
For a moment, nothing else existed.
No villains.
No crises.
No impossible decisions.
Only home.
Only them.
Outside, rain tapped softly against the apartment windows while the city glowed beneath thousands of lights. It was wonderfully, beautifully ordinary.
Then every light went out.
Not only in the apartment.
Not only in National City.
Across Earth.
Across every world.
Across every galaxy.
The stars disappeared.
At first Kara thought clouds had rolled in.
Then she looked upward.
The sky was empty.
Not dark.
Empty.
The moon had vanished.
The constellations no longer existed.
Every source of light beyond Earth had simply... ceased.
A terrible silence followed.
Her super-hearing—which could normally detect heartbeats from miles away—heard nothing beyond the atmosphere.
No solar winds.
No distant quasars.
No songs of alien civilizations.
It was as though the universe had stopped breathing.
Then everyone froze.
Cars halted in the middle of intersections.
Raindrops hung motionless in the air.
Birds became statues suspended above rooftops.
The ocean itself stopped moving.
Time had ended.
Yet Kara remained standing.
"Lena?"
No answer.
Lena stood exactly where she'd been moments before, one hand still resting against Kara's shoulder, a smile forever caught between one heartbeat and the next.
Kara reached out, gently touching her face.
Warm.
Alive.
But completely still.
Fear unlike anything she'd ever known settled into her chest.
Not fear of dying.
Fear of being left alone.
"Kara Danvers."
The voice came from everywhere.
And nowhere.
The frozen world dissolved into white.
The apartment vanished.
The Earth vanished.
Soon, Kara stood upon an endless sea of light stretching beyond imagination.
Above her floated countless dying stars, each flickering like candles nearing their final breath.
From the horizon came a figure woven from dawn itself.
Neither man nor woman.
Neither old nor young.
It wore galaxies as robes and carried the first sunrise in its hands.
"I have watched you," it said gently.
Kara instinctively stepped protectively in front of where Lena should have been.
"Who are you?"
"I have been called many names."
Its voice echoed through creation itself.
"But before names existed...
I was the First Light."
Kara stared in silence.
"You've stopped time."
"No."
The being looked upward toward the fading stars.
"Time stopped because existence has begun to end."
The dying stars dimmed further.
One by one.
Thousands.
Millions.
Entire galaxies blinked into nothingness.
Kara's breath caught.
"What... is happening?"
"The universe is dying."
Far away, in a frozen apartment where time no longer moved, Lena Luthor remained smiling.
Unaware that the woman she loved had just become the last heartbeat in a silent universe.
