Love is the beautiful process of understanding someone through the layers of walls they keep themselves hidden under. It is the connection of two souls, of two hearts that can't beat without each other. It is the taste of sweet heaven, a wonderful delight that you won't be able to stop drinking once you get a sip of.

That is what you believed, and have believed since middle school. Maybe your standards were too high, because you have never found someone who was romantically interested in you yet. While you watched your friends go through talking stages, get asked out, broken up with, you were there on the side, watching with jealousy.

Maybe that jealousy got the best of you, because for some weird reason, (with persuasion from your best friend, and the consistent nagging from your childhood best friend Miya Atsumu) you found yourself on a blind date, sitting right across Suna Rintarou. Quite frankly, it was not going well.

"So," he said, poking down at his food. "You like music?" You nodded quickly, "Yeah, I listen kind of all over. My favorites are Laufey, Tv girl, Mac Miller, Asap Rocky-"

"You listen to Asap Rocky?" He questioned, his head perking up. You spoke with more enthusiasm now, "Yeah, I started listening to him more this year. Why, do you?" He nodded slowly. "Yeah I really like the song," he thought for a minute before saying "Sundress. I like that song". Your shoulders slumped forward again. Never mind.

"What about you, what do you listen to?" You questioned, wiping your mouth with the table cloth. "I really like the Arctic Monkeys." You smiled, "The Arctic Monkeys? You seem like someone that listens to them." He didn't offer a smile back and just nodded at your comment. "Yeah I really like Why'd you only call me when your high."

You both sat in silence for a few more minutes, him picking his food, and you looking anywhere but him. The awkwardness in the air was heavy, neither of you daring to break it. Then he called out, "L/N?" You perked up. "Yer cool and shit, and ya have a good... personality, but I don't really think this went good." Thank god, you thought internally, before replying "Yeah, it was nice meeting you though, I could let Atsumu know-", right before you could finish, a voice cut through the small restaurant, the unmistakable voice of the very person you both were talking about.

"Aw, how are my two favorite people doing!" All eyes in the restaurant turned to you both, and you wanted to hide behind the thin cardigan you were wearing. He strode up carefully up to your table before grinning down on you both. Suna got up and dabbed Atsumu up before saying "Got to go, my ride's here." Atsumu frowned, before turning to go chase Suna down. "Hey!" Before he could run off, you grabbed his arm and got up yourself. Then, you gave him a big, strong punch right on his shoulder.

"OW!" He exclaimed before clutching his shoulder and pouting down on you. "I told you I didn't want to do this stupid blind date", you said through gritted teeth. He pinched your cheek before you swatted his hand away. "Hey, god forbid I'm trying to do something nice for my best friend." You rolled your eyes, "Anyway, your paying for our date remember? I only agreed because you said you would." He huffed, mumbling a few things under his breath, but he still gave his card for the check, before both of you stepped out into the cool, fall evening.

"Ok, now ya have to tell me everything. Everything. Like did ya makeout-" you punched his shoulder again. "I'm going to murder you today. I'm not even kidding." He just giggled and didn't move away. You both walked side by side to your house, as you started telling him about your date.

Atsumu and you had been friends since you were 4. Your mom's were friends, so it was only natural that you became close with both of the twin boys. Though you were also friends with Osamu, you were closer with Atsumu. Atsumu had been by your side for everything. He was there for the death of your first pet, your first friendship breakup, your fights with your parents, and even your first kiss at 13. It had been the only kiss you still had even at the age of 16, but it was a mutual decision because you both wanted to know how it would feel like. He was like a brother to you, and even though all your friends constantly told you to try a relationship with him, you didn't want to ruin the bond between both of you. Safe to say, that kiss was horrible, and you simply could not imagine dating someone like him. Osamu was more of an older brother. The three of you were fairly close, always with each other during family trips, or family gatherings. Though the three of you ended up going to different schools. While both of them went to Inarizaki for volleyball, you went to Fukurodani to continue your education, following your older brother. The separation of schools did nothing to your relationship with them, as you would still visit their house fairly often.
