When you have a person you love, you care about them and treat them with kindness and respect. You listen to them and attempt to make them happy in any way possible. That's how he should've treated me. Instead, I got little to no responses whenever we were together, treating me like a stranger when we were in public, never attempting to hang out with me unless I asked him to, you get it. He treated me like a one night stand, even after five years of being together. I always tried to get a conversation started, asking questions about his family or talking about his band. Now mind you, we only saw each other a few times a month; simply because he lived in another state. But every time I started talking, he would sigh and look down. Only because I was just trying to keep our relationship going. You may be thinking "Why do you even want to stay in a relationship with a person who clearly doesn't want to be in it?". Well reader, I don't know. Maybe I just felt a connection with him or maybe I was just desperate. Whatever it was, it just went on for a long time. I remember one time when I drove all the way to his state to see him, and he wasn't even home. He was out of town and "forgot to tell me". And like I believed that bullshit, so I went inside his house and destroyed everything valuable in it. I was so tired of being treated like thin air and I just snapped. I couldn't control myself, it felt like my soul had left my body and decided to go insane. I remember leaving his house that night feeling numb. Not relieved, not satisfied. Just numb. I couldn't believe I'd let myself get treated that way for all those years. He texted me later that night,asking if I had anything to do with his house. I plainly wrote;

"We're over."

And ended our shit right then and there. He never really texted me ever again. Only a few times to ask me to pay for his broken things or to try and file a lawsuit. I sometimes would mail him pictures of me just to haunt him. He's moved twice since then and I still found his address. All the neglect and ignoring really gets to you after all that and you have to live the rest of your life with the guilt of not leaving sooner. It'll cripple away at you, eating you alive while you slowly sink into depression. It'll drive you insane causing you to do more shit you'll regret later. You'll go mad and no one will try to help you, and then you'll rot away in abandonment issues and loneliness. So when I walk down Scott Street, I hope he remembers me and how he treated my sorry ass.
