Beware of my bad grammar, I try💔

11:00 AM, Monday, September first.

The usual crowd of the platform 9 3/4, was no shock to Draco, he had dealt with it for 6 years. Unbeknownst to him, this would be his last year at Hogwarts.

As he pushed his way into the packed train, his shoulder bumping repeatedly against multiple people, he finds the last booth and opens the sliding door, closing it behind him before sitting down, putting his luggage underneath the table.

"Looking as awful as ever Malfoy." His head snapped up at the familiar sarcastic voice coming from the doorway, pansy. His "friend" as she calls him, since first year. "You're one to talk. Looks like someone can't dress themselves." He snapped, gesturing towards her half folded collar. Her eyes darting to her collar she fixed it in a swift motion, her eyes never meeting his in slight embarrassment.

Quickly changing the subject, her face a slight crimson she smirks. "So how are you planning to torment your boyfriend on the first day?" Draco's eyes lock onto hers, a face of pure panic and surprise his eyes widen. "What? What the fuck do you mean boyfriend?" His eyebrows furrowed, his mind racing a Million thoughts at once.

"Chill Malfoy.. I was only kidding?" His eyes soften, his concerned look replaced by one of sheer annoyance. "Tch, I know that. Don't fucking call that disgrace of a wizard my boyfriend." He scoffs, his head turning to the window, taking in the familiar scene he sighs, as much as he hated it here, anywhere. It was better than home.

Blaise, finding them sitting together joins them. The train starts with a loud steam whistle and a slight shuffle of the train. The long but familiar ride felt like any others he had taken past years. A polite lady's voice repeating every few seconds, stopping at every compartment. "Anything from the trolly dears?" She said stopping at their compartment, Draco barley moving his head glancing at the woman pushing a cart, his eyes scanning the familiar candy's, until landing on a small row of red and brown boxes reading "one wish willow"

His eyebrow raises in curiosity before falling, his eyes returning back to the window, unamused. "Two chocolate frogs please." "And one of these!" Pansy added,  pointing at the one wish willows. The lady hands Blaise the frogs, then places the one wish willow in Pansy's hand.

"Have you ever seen these?" She asked, looking at Blaise shaking his head, she glances at Draco. his eyes scanning the box, he coldly replied "no." Her eyes returning to the box, turning it over until finding a small box of text on the back, reading. "Spark the middle and break it in half. Amaze your friends, you only get one wish!" Her eyebrows perk up in curiosity.

She examines the box for a few moments before abruptly placing it on the table infront of Draco, the loud thud of the box startling him. "What the fuck am I supposed to do with this?" His voice flat laced with annoyance, it always was.

"Use it!" Pansy said with an exaggerated amount of enthusiasm. "Make a wish for your first day." She added. his eyes squinted at the box, scanning over the text he scoffs and shoves it in his coat pocket.

The rest of the ride went by quickly, Blaise and Pansy having short conversations every now and then, Draco never contributing. they were used to his silence, after all it was better Than hearing him complain, because when he did it was always the same thing, that damn brunette, Potter.

The train stops with a slow pace, the loud whistle slowing down. The train came to a complete stop before the hallways became crowded with people. Yet the three stayed seated, they always waited till most of the students were already gone to avoid the traffic, and like every year, they got out. dragging their luggage, a little behind they step out the train.

They sat in a carriage, making their way to the castle, the unfamiliar weight of the one wish willow lingering in his pocket, what the hell was he supposed to wish for? He was a privileged rich kid for Merlin's sake.

They make their way to the dining hall. The smell of butter, chicken, mashed potatoes and numerous other dishes scattered across the long tables lining the room, the smell warming their noses as they sit at the Slytherin table. Draco couldn't seem less interested, his gaze seemed to be focused on something else. A familiar three sitting at the Gryffindor table. His eyes settling on the tall brunette in the middle. Harry, of course it was.

"Something interesting over there Draco, or are we just admiring?" Blaise asked, a small smile tugging on the corner of his lips, completely amused.

"What-what?" His head snaps towards Blaise, His voice catching on itself, not completely focused the first time. "Fuck are you on about."
He scoffed, shaking his head slightly. Admiring? Maybe a little.

Harry always had a way of carrying himself a way he never could, maybe it was confidence. But he had lots of confidence, right? His own thoughts questioning themselves. He had never doubted himself like this before, what made it different this year?

Draco had always had an admiration for Harry, the way he never gave up, his friends, and most of all how much he hated the way who's stomach churned after he got done with his usual teasing, there was never any real malice behind it despite how he made it seem, if Harry had looked at him a certain way that made that familiar feeling in his stomach come back, he'd immediately leave before anyone could see the crimson creeping up his neck. That's always how he'd been, Draco had never been open about his feelings with anyone, but his best friend Blaise, who had almost immediately caught the way he acted towards Harry, he just knew him.

The rest of the dinner spent complaining about anything and everything, Crabbe and Goyle's usual unnecessary questions and remarks. They'd never been the smartest. By the end of dinner Draco had caught himself looking at Harry with an unfamiliar feeling, one he couldn't quite shake like the others, this one made him, nervous?

"Come on, we're all meeting up in the common room." Blaise added, nudging Draco's shoulder.

Draco looked up, seemingly not realizing he was staring at the floor, his hands in his pocket, gripping the box. His mind went through a dozen of different scenarios, he still wasn't sure what to wish for, yet absentmindedly confirmed he was going to use it at all. "No thanks, got plans" looking up at the group he looks back at the empty hallway, most of the students already at their dorms.

He makes his way to a nearby bathroom, his steps echoing in the hallway with a steady rhythm. His mind loud and non-stop.

He reaches out and opens the bathroom door, slamming it shut behind him with a loud thud, he leans against the door. A quiet shaky breath leaving his lips, relief mixed with uncertainty. He pulls out the small rectangular box, examining it once more, like it's some sort of prank, which he had assumed it was , probably some scam, a collectible item maybe. He opens the box with shaky hands, he holds the willow in his palm, holding it like a foreign object, he crumbles the box, tossing it into a nearby trash can.

"Tch, fuck ass wish." He said, his voice laced with a mix of uncertainty and curiosity, in his mind he had already made up it wasn't going to work. Sure, school of witchcraft and wizardry, but a wish, truly coming true with the snap of a willow, he doubted himself.

He let out another shaky breath; this time more quickly, determined almost. And with both hands he gripped each side of the willow, adjusting his thumbs in the middle, a sharp inhale then..

"I wish Harry loved me more than anything in the entire world."

In one quick motion he snapped the willow in half, pieces falling on the floor, the two sides remaining in his hands, shakier then before. the willow falls to the floor, His breathing stopped for a second. almost as if, waiting. For something, anything.

As if he felt the presence, Draco steps back, pausing and swallowing hard before opening the bathroom door in one swift motion, stepping out into the hallway, he stops, staring infront of him, his eyes widened slightly. His mouth opened, then closed again, for  once in his life, he was at a loss for words. A familiar soft voice echos through the empty hallway, the silence following deafening.

"Malfoy?"
