YOUR NAME

I kept your name for a long time,

And a love that can never be mine.

I still remember the promises we made,

But even that is meant to break and fade.

Love is beautiful they say,

But loving you feels like a debt I pay.

The stars burned bright across the night,

I walked alone beneath their gentle light.

Each step was soft against the ground,

While thoughts of you kept circling round.

Though time comes to age,

The memories we made will never fade.

My heart echoed your name that night,

Hoping you'd return and make it right.

Now silence speaks where your voice once stayed, a hollow echo leading me astray.

I hold the words I never got to say,

And let them fade each passing day.

Yet in my heart, where quiet dreams reside,

A part of you will always stay inside.
