"Oh." Was all he could say, then looked down.
"I'm so sorry, Kurapika." You start, "I'm so sorry for making you wait so long for my response, only to hear that. I just needed time to sort out my feelings after all of the chaos died down and... well... I'm sorry. You are such a great guy: Sweet, smart, caring and understanding and I thought I like you. I did like you when we were younger, but..."
"You don't anymore. You fell for someone else." He says sadly, completing what you couldn't and all you can do is nod in agreement.
"I'm so sorry." You say, beginning to shiver and having to hug yourself tight so to keep yourself from falling apart, "I just had to be honest with myself, to be honest with you. I wanted to return your love, I did, but I couldn't. You must hate me right now for returning all of your kindness and patience with this."
"Hate you?" Kurapika cuts in suddenly sounding almost angry, "I could never hate you."
You look up at him as he grabs your shoulders, practically shaking you with every word he says. "I confessed to you because I had to get it out, I had to tell you. I never confessed expecting you to reciprocate my love. There was no guarantee of that, I knew there was no guarantee of that. I confessed to you for myself, not obliging you to return my sentiments; just for you to acknowledge them and to put my heart at ease. I'm sorry , for making you feel obliged to return my feelings, I didn't mean to make you feel like that. Thank you for being honest with me. That was all I could hope for." He ends soothing your arms, instantly making you stop quivering. You look up to see him smiling down on you, but for once, it didn't make your heart flutter like it used to. It was now just a warm smile, a smile that sent a wave of relief throughout your body because it proved he didn't hate you.
"I'm so sorry, Kurapika." You whisper silently. He pulls you into a tight hug and sighs heavily.
"I am too." He says pulling away from you. "Can we still be friends though? I enjoy being your friend and your hate to lose your friendship over something like this."
"Of course." You say wiping away a stray tear, "I wouldn't have it any other way." You smile and he nods. He then picks up his stuff and begins to walk away. When he's a few meters down the hall you whisper to yourself, "Thank you, Kurapika. For everything." He walks away with out so much as looking back, and you watched as his backed turned into a hallway leading to the lobby, You let out a heavy breath and felt a millions pounds lighter. Now you just needed to drop the billions of pounds you felt on your chest when it came to confessing to Killua.
You lean by onto your room's door for a second to collect yourself before calling out to the two boys, "I know you're both there. And I know you were listening." You watch as the two boys fall out of the room to your left. You'd sensed their ears pressed up against the door the moment you and Kurapika started talking.
"Listening? Whaaat? We didn't hear a thing about you rejecting Kurapika." Gon says making Killua face palm.
"Right..." You roll your eyes and stand up straighter, "Listen Gon, do you mind if I talk to Killua alone for a minute?"
You notice Killua tense up in your peripheral vision, but continue looking at Gon. He nods and says, "I'll just get my stuff and bring them down to the lobby." He runs back into the room and soon come back, his arms filled with bags, "I'll see you guys in the lobby." You wait until he runs down the hall and turns the corner before directing your attention back to Killua.
"Way to give us privacy." You say sarcastically and he simply leans back on his door stuffing his hands into his pockets.
"I never admitted to eavesdropping." You roll your eyes upon hearing this and decide to let it slide just this once. You stay silent, trying to think of how to start, but nothing comes to mind. You could feel your heart palpitating as frantically and as erratically ad the night before. You sigh heavily, knowing you were going to screw up this confession already and if you didn't speak now, things would just become more awkward. When you try to say something, Killua beats you to it.
