"Izuku midoriya!"
"Midoriya!"
"Sir!"
I squeezed through all the paparazzi surrounding me and my coach as we made our way out of the airport and into a cab we'd called.
"Don't let it get in your head, your career begins now." Coach Aizawa said as we left the scene behind us.
"Yes coach"
"Get settled in and we start tomorrow morning at 9 am. Sharp. I'll send you the gyms location and..." Coach Aizawa continued informing me about my new schedule and 10 minutes later I'd arrived.
.
.
.
"Hey mum" I waved.
"Honey! I'm so proud of you! Come, come in,let's get you settled too,you must be tired" she said squishing me.
"Good job." My father said from behind her.
"Thanks" I said.
I unpacked, slept for the rest of the day and the next morning headed to the gym.
I need to work harder.
I need to be on top. Always.
A single medal missed and I can kiss the super slam goodbye.
The super slam,An athlete achieves a Super Slam by winning gold medals in every major international competition regulated by the International Skating Union (ISU) across both their junior and senior careers. It requires sweeping all six of the following titles:
The Junior Titles:
World Junior Championships
Junior Grand Prix Final
The Senior Titles:
Olympic Games
World Championships
Grand Prix Final
Four Continents Championships (for skaters from the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Oceania) or the European Championships.
I've got 3 of these titles at the age of 18.
I can do this,I can make this almost impossible accomplishment and at record time at that,I know I can.
I need a World Championships, a grand prix final and a four Continents or European Championships gold medal.
I've got what it takes.
I need to.
I was lost in thought when I heard someone enter the ice.
I turned around to find a blond haired, rough looking guy skate toward me,way too close for my liking.
"Do you mind?" I put a hand in his chest for a slip second to push myself back a couple steps.
He was smirking and it got on my nerves "the ice is ours today newbie,so scram"
"Excuse you? Do you not know who I am?" I said, unbelievable. This arrogant bastard...
"Should l?" He asked sarcastically.
I don't owe anything to this prick nor do I need to prove anything.
"From day on the ice is closed in the mornings, hockey practices are moved to evenings, you should've probably checked the schedule. There's gonna be some changes around here." I said closing in to his face.
The tension between us grew large,it felt...familiar,somehow.
"Cap! You here? There's been a change in schedules,we can't be-"
A voice behind us yelled as it approached.
The blonde guy turned his attention to his teammate "yea. I figured." He said,Skating away but then turned and smirked again locking eyes with me "see ya...deku." he then left.
Deku? Where have i heard that before?
I pushed the distractions out of my head and continued on practicing.
A few days later...I remembered. Or well,my mother reminded me,over dinner when she asked me if I saw 'katsuki-kun'
"Who?"
"Ah,don't tell me you don't remember him! You 2 were always stuck to each other like glue! You first decided to try skating together, and had your first huge fight when you went to be a figure skater like your dad and he wanted to try hockey. You were always at each other's throats. You even had nicknames for each other,it's was adorable! You called him-"
"Kacchan.." I finished for her.
Kacchan aka katsuki bakugou,my childhood best friend,we've known each other since 4,at the age of 7 my father encouraged Skating so I mentioned it and we decided to try it out together,at the age of 7 I chose figure Skating and he chose hockey,we had a huge fight about it,it was the first time we did something separately, our difference in sport didn't stop us from becoming rivals. 6 years later at the age of 13 I got offered a place at an international figure Skating program after getting discovered. We never talked again...
Until now.
