BWOOONK!!

BWOOONK!!

"Attention passengers. This is your captain speaking. We are about to enter Crimsonton . I repeat. We are about to enter Crimsonton. All boarding passengers to Crimsonton..." The Captain's voice came from the intercom.

Without waiting for the captain to finish, Pearl jumped off the bunk bed in the cabin. With excitement bubbling up in her chest, she brushed her hair.

At long last, after 18 years, she could finally reunite with her family.

A sigh escaped her lips as she retrieved her small suitcase from the cupboard above the bed. She opened it, brought out a blue dress and smiled with satisfaction.

"Perfect." She said as she placed the dress on top of the bed before walking to the bathroom to take a shower.

Few Moments Later...

Pearl, with her suitcase in one hand and an hairpin in other, stepped out of the cabin. But as she did, her body collided with another, and with a light thumb, the other party fell to the floor.

The other party was a man with overly pale skin, looking really sick. Tiny beads of sweat where on his forehead. His hair was damp with sweat, sticking to the skin on his face.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..." Pearl quickly tried to apologize, but before she could finish, the man got up and pushed her back inside the cabin. With a soft click, he closed the door after him.

"Hey! What are you..." The man didn't give her time to protest. He covers her mouth with his hand.

"Where is the safest hiding place here?" He asked, looking around the cabin.

Feeling really annoyed, Pearl slapped his hand off her mouth. She put her suitcase down and placed the hairpin on top of it. With her hands on her hips she asked;

"And what makes you think I'll let you hide here?"

"There are people after my life. I need to take refuge here. Please." The man's voice was low and hoarse. He spoke with difficulty, and as he did, more beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. His breathing was heavy.

She eyed him briefly, looking for something hidden behind his eyes. But there's nothing to be read in those eyes,as they were as blank as freshly cut out paper. Having an overly sensitive set of ears, she soon heard the faint sounds of hurried footsteps.

"Get in the bathroom. Quick!"

Without hesitation, the man stepped inside the bathroom.

"It's a little cramped."

Pearl rolls her eyes, removing one hand from the sleeve of her dress and letting the other sleeve fall over her shoulder.

"Well be my guest and step out. See if you won't get caught in the next three minutes."

The man poked his head out, only to see Pearl's dress drown down to her waist. It looked really slender, like it could snap if touched carelessly.

His eyes went up and settled on her chest region. It wasn't big, neither was it small. She looked like she was ready to take off her bra. His eyes lingered there a while before moving upward, only to meet Pearl's cold eyes staring back at him.

Even with her glaring at him, he didn't stop staring. His eyes rolling back down to her bare stomach. He didn't even notice when she took off  her shoe until she threw it at him. The man's head disappeared back into the bathroom, the door locking with a soft click sound.

" Pervert! "

Pearl did a mental countdown. And just as she counted down to one, the door that was locked was forced open.

"Ahhh!!" Pearl's scream was deafening. She looked towards the door frantically. Eyes wide, the soft and cold breeze rushing into the cabin made her white skin gain a faint blush.

There were two men behind the door, a short guy and a tall guy with a tattoo on his neck.

Upon seeing the young lady, standing inside the cabin, the shorty's face turned red and he quickly turned away.

"Sorry!" The taller guy said but didn't look away. He didn't even look like he was ready to.

Pearl huffed. " Pervert!" She quickly covered herself with the dress, walked up to the door and slammed it shut.

"You could at least show some respect"

"For what?"

"For the lady!"

"I said sorry!"

"You didn't look away!"

"I tried!"

"But you didn't!"

"I couldn't help it!"

Pearl listened to the two men bicker outside through the closed door.

" Quick, dimwits! Find that bastard! He couldn't have gone far. Get it done quickly so we don't keep boss waiting." A deeper voice came from outside. Then came the sound of their hurried footsteps disappearing.

Pearl sighed with relief as she put her clothes back in order.

"You can come out now." She said

The man poked his head out the half opened bathroom door, half expecting her to be in the same state he had seen her when he'd poked his head out the first time.

Only after confirming that she was properly dressed, did he come out of the bathroom fully. He had to bend his head so that the frame didn't hit his head when he walked through the bathroom door. When he stood straight, it was clear that he is around 6'7 or there about. He could even be taller.

Being just 5'3, Pearl felt bitter with this man standing in front of her. She basically looked like a child while standing in front of him. What crime did she commit to be this short.

"What's your name?" The man asked. His voice is deep and melodious, sending shivers through her.

"How's that any of your business?" Pearl huffed.

" You saved me. I'd like to repay the favor."

"Like l care!" She said, picking up her suitcase. "I have places to be, so I'll leave you to your fate." Without waiting for him to say anything, she stepped out of the cabin, closing thes door behind her with a click.

"Wait!" The man called out after she had closed the door. He ran out of the cabin, but she was already gone. He looked at the hairpin in his hand and sighed. He wanted to look for her. But he couldn't linger here, unless he wants to be caught by those men.
