Chapter 1: Himari.

She worked as a veterinary assistant at a small animal clinic. The job was exhausting: cleaning cages, helping during treatments, and calming frightened pets but she loved every second of it.

At home, she lived with her mother and younger brother, Cheongmin. Since her father passed away years ago, Himari had taken on extra responsibilities to help keep the family together. She often worked overtime and skipped buying things for herself so her family wouldn't have to worry.

Despite struggling financially, she never complained.

Everyone at the clinic knew Himari as the employee who stayed late to comfort injured animals. She would sit beside frightened dogs after surgery and spend her breaks feeding stray cats around the neighborhood.

Her friends often said she was too nice.

"One day someone's going to take advantage of you," they warned.

Himari would simply shrug.

"If I can help someone, why wouldn't I?"

Outside of work, Himari enjoyed quiet nights, watching movies with her brother, and taking walks through the city after sunset.
