The scorching sun peers through the window, reflecting its light on a nearby mirror, revealing the rooms contents. A 5'10 woman is seen putting on small bur valuable earrings on her ears, Golden brown hair cascading downwards with curls. A grayish long sleeved hoodie that hugs her hourglass figure nicely, along with a medium sized dress that reaches her knees. Her heels land on the floor with loud "Clicks" stepping on the porcelain tiles.
Downstairs, a voice calls to her... "Maya, honey, are you finished yet?"
"Coming Mom!" Maya replied, bolting down the stairs with ease despite the heels. "Sorry for the wait..."
"You better be!" Her mom replied in a teasing tone... "You spent almost an hour up there!"
Maya rolls her eyes, she couldn't help but let out a sheepish grin... "Well, I can confirm that trying to look my best really does take a long time."
Her mother laughs aloud heartily, seemingly finding Maya's remark rather amusing.
"Oh my sweet cupcake..." Her mom then places both of her soft hands on her daughter's cheeks, cupping them gently.
"You always look breathtaking, even if you aren't trying."
Maya's expression softens, touched by her mother's comment. Without hesitation, she wraps her arms around her mother in a comforting embrace, the warm heat from her mother wraps around her like as if she's embracing a heater. The sweet scent of mango blossom perfume has her leaning into the embrace even more. The silence went on for a few moments, then Maya breaks it...
"I love you, Mom."
Those 4 words spoken from a hushed tone was all that her mother needed to hear. A soft smile then spreads across her face, as she leans down to plant a small kiss on Maya's forehead. In a whispered tone, she speaks...
"I love you too, sweetie. Forever and Always."
They both held each other a moment longer before pulling back meeting each other's gaze once again.
"You have everything you need to go?" Maya's mother asked, her voice soft and reassuring.
Maya then nods at the question, answering it with a simple hum.
"Mhm."
Her mom gives her one final kiss on the cheek the waves her off with a pat on the head.
"You should get going. Can't let the day pass you by. Safe travels, dear."
"Thanks, Mom! I'll be back soon. If not, I'll text you."
Maya then approaches the door, catching something at the corner of her eye, just as she places her hand on the knob. She glances to her left, and to her surprise... It's a small porcelain doll sitting on a wooden stool. It's hair is the exact replica of Maya's, but tied into a bun. Gardener overalls, noticeable freckles... Along with blue eyes.
Maya doesn't think much of it, turning the doorknob and stepping outside, the cool breeze hitting her instantly. She let's out a content sigh, gets inside her sedan. She hits the gas and drives off, heads straight towards the highway. Little did she know... A passenger was inside with her, waiting.
