The reality show house had a strange way of bringing people together.
Twenty contestants entered as strangers, but weeks of living together, competing together, and surviving endless cameras made every emotion feel stronger than it actually was.
For Gaurav, however, there was only one person he seemed incapable of ignoring.
Tanya.
It wasn't love at first sight.
At least, that's what he told himself.
He simply noticed things.
The way she greeted everyone every morning.
The way she smiled when she was genuinely happy versus when she was forcing herself to stay positive.
The way she bit her lip while thinking.
The way she always offered food to others before serving herself.
Tiny things.
Insignificant things.
Yet somehow, he remembered every single one.
The problem was that the more he noticed her, the harder it became to act normal around her.
Whenever Tanya entered a room, his attention automatically shifted toward her.
Whenever she laughed, he found himself smiling.
Whenever she looked upset, his entire day seemed ruined.
His friends began teasing him almost immediately.
"Bro, you're staring again."
"I am not."
"You literally haven't blinked."
"Shut up."
The teasing only made things worse.
Because Gaurav wasn't ready to admit what everyone else could already see.
So he developed a defense mechanism.
Whenever Tanya wasn't around, he'd pretend she annoyed him.
"She talks too much."
"She's too emotional."
"She's impossible."
His friends laughed.
But somehow, every conversation still ended up being about Tanya.
One night, a friend finally pointed it out.
"For someone who doesn't like her, you sure spend a lot of time talking about her."
Gaurav had no response.
Because he knew they were right.
Meanwhile, Tanya genuinely respected him.
She saw him as dependable.
Protective.
Someone who always seemed to appear whenever she needed help.
When she struggled during a difficult task, he was there.
When she felt homesick, he sat beside her.
When she was exhausted, he quietly brought her water without asking.
It wasn't dramatic.
It wasn't romantic.
It was simply consistent.
And that consistency slowly became important to her.
The first time jealousy hit Gaurav, it caught him completely off guard.
A new contestant entered the house midway through the season.
Confident.
Charming.
Funny.
And apparently very interested in Tanya.
The newcomer spent hours talking to her.
Laughing with her.
Sitting beside her.
The cameras loved it.
The audience loved it.
Everyone in the house noticed it.
Everyone except Tanya.
And Gaurav hated every second of it.
He became quieter.
More irritable.
More distant.
His friends noticed immediately.
"You're jealous."
"No."
"You absolutely are."
"No."
"You look like you want to fight him."
"Maybe."
That earned a round of laughter.
But Gaurav wasn't joking.
Watching someone else effortlessly get Tanya's attention felt unbearable.
The worst part?
He had absolutely no right to feel that way.
He wasn't her boyfriend.
He wasn't even brave enough to tell her how he felt.
So who was he to be jealous?
A few days later, Tanya noticed his strange behavior.
"Did I do something wrong?" she asked.
Gaurav looked confused.
"What?"
"You've been avoiding me."
"I haven't."
"You have."
He looked away.
Tanya sighed.
"You know, you can tell me if you're upset."
The concern in her voice made his chest ache.
Because the truth was impossible to explain.
