After a few more boring lessons like math class, where the teacher asked me a question and I got it totally wrong so all my class mates laughed at me, it was finally lunch time. Normally, I would just hate lunch but it was better than being paired up with the idiot named Brad. I wonder if the nurses spelled his name wrong when he was born. He should be called Brat. Or Rat. You decide. "Clara!", Scar yelled as she padded the seat next to her. I shook my head and placed myself on the other side of the bench so I was in front of her instead of next to her. "Any good lunch I can steal?", she asked and smirked. "I have a banana?", I said and she smiled. "I know you normally don't eat - so can I get it?", she asked and I nodded and handed it to her. "What's your next class?", she asked and took a big bite of the banana I had just been giving her. "P.E.", I replied and pulled out my phone. "Okay, cool. I know you like P.E.". My phone started to buzz and I looked at it. Dad was calling me. "Excuse me", I quickly said and walked out of the cafeteria and outside.

"Dad?", I asked as I answered his call. "Hi, darling. Are you in class right now?", he asked and I replied with a no and leaned up against a tree just outside school. "I just wanted to ask if you wanted me to say something to your mother?". I sighed and sat down quickly covering my head with my hands. "Just tell her I miss her. And that I love her", I whispered and looked around making sure no one heard me. "I know it's hard. But she'll make it", dad whispered into the phone making a tear slip from my eye. Shit. I couldn't cry in front of anybody. I didn't want them to know anything. "I hope she will". I shook my head and mumbled a goodbye before hanging up. I tried to wipe the tears away from my eyes and pulled out my book trying to maybe take my mind off everything.

"Nerd, why are you sitting alone? Where's your friend?", Brad asked me with a smirk. "Please just leave me alone", I whispered. "Wait, why have you been crying?", he asked coldly. "None of your business". "Is it because you're alone? I'm sure I could give you some company", he said and smirked. "Just leave me alone". I stood up fumbling with getting my book in my bag and I sighed deeply when I dropped it on the ground. "Clumsy much?", he asked and laughed loudly. "Oh, dude, you just wanted her for yourself", Toby yelled as he approached me from behind. "Isn't that the nerd?", Zac laughed with them. "She's my English partner", Brad explained. "Maybe you're actually going to get a good grade", Toby laughed. "Yeah, dude". I rolled my eyes at them and was about to leave when Brad grabbed my wrist. "Hey. We need to work on the assignment", he said turning me around. "Not today", I warned him. He saw my phone in my hand and snatched it. He then called someone and I started to breathe heavily. "W-who are you calling", I asked. "Me...", he then replied. "So I've got your number", he smirked. "Give it back to me", I tried reaching for it but he was too tall. "Who shall we call? You dad? Or maybe your mom?", he asked and smirked. I gulped and looked at the floor.

"CLARA!", someone yelled and we all turned around. Thank God, it was Aaron. "'You coming?", he asked and I looked back at Brad who was standing there glaring at him. He didn't even notice when I took my phone back, accidently touching his hand. He was ice cold. I turned around and walked towards Aaron who was holding his skateboard. "Did they do anything?", he asked as I approached him. "N-no", I whispered. "They're bad guys, Clara. Don't bother to talk to them", he said and started to walk to the locker rooms. "I know. They made my little brother cry", I said sadly and he looked at me. "Really?". I nodded and his jaw clenched. "They're just dickheads", he said making me laugh and then blush. I wasn't really used to hearing those words. "What? Why are you laughing?", he asked and pouted. "That word", I laughed. "What? Dickhead?", he asked and I laughed even harder. "You're such a weirdo", he laughed but smirked. "Let's get to P.E.", I said and started to walk faster. "Why in such a hurry", he asked. "I'm never late", I replied. After getting to my locker after promising to meet up with Aaron on the running field outside I quickly changed into a pair of running shorts and a running top. I took on my Nike shoes and took off my glasses replacing them with contacts. "Hi there", Aaron said behind me making me jump. "Hi". "Are you on for running some laps?", he asked and started to jump up and down. "I was born ready", I laughed. Then I spotted a curly haired guy with a pair of track bottoms and no shirt. Of course he wasn't wearing a shirt and of course he was talking to the slut named Hailey. "Why is he in this class", I groaned and turned around so I didn't look at him. "Who?", Aaron asked looking around. "Brad", I said through gritted teeth. "Ignore him", he said. "I bet I can outrun you", I challenged him trying to forget Brad was here. "Oh, I don't think so", he replied and laughed. "Okay. Let's see", I said and smirked. We counted down from 3 and ran. I was actually faster than him so I won. "LOSER", I yelled. "You didn't...", he whispered as a smile was creeping up on his face. I knew what that meant. I started to run but he caught me just before I ran into Brad and lifted me up in the air and threw me on his shoulder. "LET ME GO", I laughed. "No. No one calls me a loser", he laughed just as loud as me.
