Chapter One: The Crack

"I just don't think it's fair that you have to skip a turn."

"It's literally in the rules!"

"You just made that up"

"I did not!"

The thunder rumbled in the distance outside, as the group gathered together in Billy's living room. He invited everyone over for a game night, but of course, Agatha and Rio were extremely competetive.

"She's right," he muttered, "you skip a turn if you get hit with the plus two."

Agatha rolled her eyes, "Well I don't like that rule. It's stupid."

Rio laughed, pointing towards Agatha's cards, "You literally have like thirty, you're so bad at this."

Agatha didn't hesitate as she charged towards Rio, before Alice and Jennifer quickly held her back. Rio smirked at her, as she placed down her final card.

"I win."

Agatha threw her cards down, crossing her arms in frustration. "Whatever. It means nothing anyway."

"If it meant nothing, you wouldn't be this upset." Rio smirked, making Agatha scoff at her in disgust.

Alice stepped in between them, holding a box, "How about we play Cluedo instead?"

"That's my favorite!" Billy grinned, and everyone sat back into the circle they had formed, which they'd stepped back from after Agatha and Rio turned into Uno finalists.

Alice opened the box and took out the contents, the board, cards, and the figures. Billy grabbed some pencils he had laying around and passed them round to everyone. Agatha was already adamant she was winning, although that was her mindset for literally anything she played.

Meaning she was very upset when Rio won again.

"I'm not speaking to you for the rest of the night, you know." She mumbled angrily.

"Sure." Rio replied, and trying but failing to hide her smirk. Of course Agatha didn't mean it.

Billy chuckled and stood up, heading towards the kitchen, "Does anyone want another drink?"

The majority agreed, as he took some soda cans out of the fridge, "Now, how about we put a movie on instead?"

"Oh, that would be lovely!" Sharon exclaimed, "Games can get quite intense with, well..."

Agatha's head shot towards her, making the group chuckle. Billy rolled his eyes and grabbed the remote, "What're we thinking?"

"Something scary. It's almost Halloween, after all." Rio suggested.

"Oh, I'm not very good with scary movies..." Sharon spoke, making Lilia scoot closer to her.

"You'll be absolutely fine, dear. I assure you. When you watch them, picture the actors behind the scenes..."

Lilia rambled on, as Billy flicked through the channels. Alice pointed at the screen, raising an eyebrow. "Hey, that looks pretty good."

"You haven't seen Friday the 13th?" He turned to her, and she shook her head.

"I haven't either." Jennifer spoke up, making Billy gasp.

"Have any of you even seen it?"

Everyone shook their heads.

"Friday the 13th it is."

They got comfortable on the couches, except for Rio and Billy who preferred to stay on the floor. Rio sat close to the couch, a soft smile on her face as Agatha ran her fingers through her hair from above. Alice and Jen sat next to each other, but kept a very awkward distance, as Sharon was already hiding her face in Lilia's shoulder before anything even happened.
