Des Moines, Iowa the year is 1914 in my name is Ronald Chapman, I was a painter for Klinger Paint Company, I was on my launch break I was reading the newspaper with the headlines saying that Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria got assassinated by a Suberin guy that I don't know, I'm hoping that our President Wilson doesn't send us into a war with some European conflict. In mid to late of 1914 the whole USA are protesting against the war, some of the American people are wanting us to get into the war to stop the Germans and I wanted to stay out of the war agreeing with my other fellow Americans not wanting to go to the war.

The year is now 1915, after the 1914 year ended we went back living our normal life here in Iowa and in the country, I left my painting job in December to volunteer the Marines Corps in early 1915, I heard that President Wilson administration is allowing private companies sending the British and the allies weapons and ammo for their war against the Germans and their allies, after my volunteering is complete in mid  1915 the Marines Corps wanted me to stay for the next three years or more into the 1920's I told them that I'll think about staying for the following years and they agreed for me to think about. Mid of June of 1915 I left the USMC to work at my old job back in Des Moines, Iowa as a painter I stayed there until May 7th of 1917 when the RMS Lusitania sink with nearly 1,200 American onboard the ship, the following day on the 8th of May 1917 I left my job again to join the Marines again this time I'm staying in the military with the hole USA wanting to go fight the Germans and their allies.
