Several weeks have passed since she was brought to this...horror house. While she was glad that she was being kept away from the other occupants of this...Dark place, she wished she had someone to talk to, other than her guardian.

She was grateful for him though, he was very much unlike the other occupants that lived in this castle. She often wondered why he was even here. Why the others hadn't killed him off or kicked him out.

Sundune was kind, respectful, gentle, and thoughtful. She couldn't believe he was even associated with this awful place.

Kai sighed softly to herself, wishing for company.

While she hadn't left the safety of Sundune's quarters, she was told about everything that went on outside. Sundune would come back from patrolling the borders and inform her on his day, he could always tell what she was thinking, what she wanted to know. It was nice of him to tell her everything, leaving nothing out. She sometimes wished he had left something out. The sightings of fights and abuse, torture and punishment that went on was something she could live without.

It was a few days ago that she was told of the sighting of the little she-devil.

She had swarmed him with questions once she was told that he caught sight of Vera after he had delivered some weapons to the Prince.

It was after he had informed her of everything, that she wished she hadn't...

She had fisted her hands in his shirt and asked,

"Is she alright? How is she? She isn't hurt is she? What are they doing with her?"

He gave her a blank face that gave nothing away, but she could see the uneasiness in his eyes.

He informed her of what he saw and knew.

"The prince allowed me into his room to set the supplies in his quarters. When I turned to bow and leave, was when I saw her. She was chained to the wall...injured. She was staring into space with a scowl."

"What do you mean she was injured? How hurt was she?"

"It seemed that had gotten into a bad fight. There were tears in her clothes and scratches as well as bruises on her skin. My guess is that the Prince is getting her loose of those chains a few times and fighting with her for entertainment."

At that, she was sick and angry. How could these people be so horrible?

Yet, she felt even worse knowing that there wasn't much she could do to help her friend. Though they barely knew each other, it felt like they have been friends before, perhaps in another life.

Currently, she sat silently on the floor, skimming through a worn book that Sundune had given her, 'To help pass the time'. She didn't really know what it was about, she was just scanning over the pages, distractedly. Sundune was on his patrol today, meaning she was alone again until he came back.

Sighing, Kai let herself fall back onto the floor, landing with a faint 'thump'. "Why am I hear if I'm just going to be kept away inside a room all the time?" She groaned lowly and rolled onto her side, her blue gaze staring blankly at the hard floor in front of her.

"You're here to serve me. You're waiting for that is over." The voice that suddenly, unexpectedly sounded, made her heart drop in shock and slight fear. She felt like she momentarily died due to her shock.

Kai shot up, spinning around to face who spoke. To her dread, it was who she thought it was. It seemed her praying for it being someone else, heck, even the 'Snake man' would have been nice.

Standing not five feet from her was the reason she had protection all this time, why she worried for her friend, why she was scared right now. Before her stood the Prince of this Dark place. His dark smoldering gaze was locked onto her firmly, making her feel like he was looking into her soul with those dark soulless eyes of his.
