midnight cuddling

"We should get to bed" I said kind of muffled since I was yawning while saying it to Matthew.

Today he took me to this perfect date to our local carnival. He won me a big stuffed animal and we had a very romantic moment on the Ferris wheel. It was beautiful.

"yeah we should, night babygirl" Matthew said as he leaned over and kissed your cheek. You felt your cheeks get warm and you rested your head on this chest while he wrapped his arms protectively over you.

After 15 minutes you could already hear Matthew's breathing become heavier and you could tell he was asleep. His steady heartbeat right up against your ear as clear as a whistle.

After hours of trying to fall asleep your just couldn't. You slowly and carefully got out of bed trying to not wake Matthew from his slumber. You thought maybe going downstairs to watch some t.v would help you.

Before you left the room, you slipped on one of Matthews hoodies which ended right above your knees. All his sweatshirts were oversized on your petite little frame.

Just as you were about to open the door as silent as you could, you felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist. The sudden movement caused you to jump a little from being off guard.

Seconds later you heard a whisper in your ear,

"it's alright babygirl it's just me" cooed Matthew to calm you down. As soon as you heard his voice you immediately got your breath back and you sunk into his chest after being frightened.

"what are you doing up so late babygirl? You should be sleeping" Matthew said into your ear.

"I couldn't fall asleep, I was just gonna go watch some t.v. I'm sorry if I woke you.." you said.

"It's alright, I can't sleep without you anyway. I'll come and watch some t.v with you" he said.

"no it's okay... you can go back to sleep you're gonna be tired."

"I wouldn't dream of sleeping without you." he said as a smile spread across his and your face.

You felt your cheeks get a little warm again and you wrapped your arms around his neck, while he held the your small waist and you reached up on your tippy toes and gave him a long passionate kiss.

You could feel him smiling in the kiss which made you smile right back. After a few minutes you pulled away and gave him a hug that lasted a few second and led him over to the couch.

You both cuddled and watched "The Fault In Our Stars" and about halfway through the movie you could feel your eyelids getting heavy and ready to shut.

You soon fell asleep resting your head on Matthew's chest, with a smile on your face.

The next morning you woke up still smuggled into Matthew, who was letting out faint little snores and you immediately smiled remembering what had happened last night.
