I've always loved fruit. No matter the season I'd love some pineapple, even if it wasn't as sweet as it would have been in the summer. I'd take a bowl of Strawberries, even if they did go bad quicker in the winter.

I'd want fruit no matter where I was or what I was doing. Rather I was at home or at school. I'd have it in a big bowl or in a small baggie for a snack.

At my Mamaw's, it was always "Can I have an Apple, please"? Or "Can I have an Orange?" Or "Can I have a Banana?". She'd always have them.

I can't eat Oranges anymore. I don't like the skin on the apple, so I peel it. I still enjoy a banana for breakfast or for a snack.

Things have changed from which one was my favorite to what would now be my lease favorite.
I'd be five and say "Watermelon is my favorite!", but now I'll say, "I'm stuck between Pineapple and blueberries".

My Mom has made sure we've stock up on fruit so that away I can have it for breakfast or for a snack. My Mamaw did the same thing with her Apples, Oranges, and Bananas.

My Mamaw has passed away. She passed on April 15th, 2025. There are still Apples and Oranges sitting in the usual bowl and Bananas hanging up on the Banana rack.

As you change, so does your favorite or least favorite fruit. But sometimes, in the world around you, things are consistent; like Apples, Oranges, and Bananas that sit in my Mamaw's kitchen.

I like fruit, too, but maybe not for the reason that you do.
