"What?" I ask my mom, taking off my headphones to make sure I hear her correctly.
"Me and your father will be on vacation for a while, You'll be alone in the house for a few months." She replies, she looks upset.
"Youre leaving?" I ask "Why?"
My mom sighs
"We just need a bit of a break from the city, but we cant take you with us, you need to keep going to school." She says "I wish we could take you, I'm sorry."
At the time I had told her it was fine, but the house was too quiet now.
I felt alone, as I curled up on the couch, the TV playing some show I didnt care enough about to take any note of.
I couldnt cry, not because I was unable or because I thought I was too strong, I just didnt want to, I'd always hated the feeling of my tears on my cheeks and the way my throat seemed to close up.
So I just sat there, silently.
At some point I think I got a text, because I remember typing on my phone, but I dont know who sent it, or if it even really was a text.
