"Part of me comes from the Ainu — it's in my family's blood, our songs, and the way we honor the land."
("I grew up in Lavender Town, where the air smells of incense and the nights hum with ghost stories. But my roots stretch further north — to the Ainu blood in my family, to the old songs my grandmother would hum when she thought no one was listening.").
I was born in June 6th, 1990 in lavender town Japan I heard stories about my ancestors. I was born different my dad , mom and my younger brother Andrew were werewolves but , I was born as 50% god 40% human and 10% something else I could never put my finger on. My grandmother, the only gentle voice in my childhood, used to tell me stories about our ancestors. One story she told more than any other was about a woman from our bloodline who lived centuries ago, in the far north where the winters were long and the forests endless. She was human once, but when her village faced destruction — famine, sickness, and the threat of invaders — she made a pact with a fox spirit. In exchange for her loyalty and a piece of her soul, the spirit transformed her into a kitsune.
I was born with very pale skin almost like it was paper white and my eyes were black with white tiny pupils that turned red when angry. Some in my family whispered that she was both savior and trickster, protector and deceiver. Others claimed she vanished into the snow one winter night, leaving only pawprints and a trail of glowing embers. My grandmother would lean close and say, 'That ten percent you can't name? That's her. That's the fox in you.' I never knew if she was right. But sometimes, when the moon is high and my anger rises, I feel anger towards my family in my chest at times I never change into what my family did , the God's power in my veins... and the Fox's sly smile curling at the edge of my thoughts. And in those moments, I swear I see a flicker of orange light behind me — a tail swaying in the dark, waiting for me to claim it."
My grandmother told my mom the truth. Long before I was born, before Lavender Town even had its name, one of our ancestors — a man — was betrayed by those he trusted most. His rage was so great that it drew the attention of a fox spirit. The spirit offered him power to take his revenge, but the gift came with a curse: the hunger of the kitsune. He tried to fight it, to resist the urge to feed on life and spirit, but the struggle consumed him. In his final days, he wandered the hills where Lavender Town now stands. They say his grief and the foxfire burning inside him seeped into the soil, and from that earth, lavender began to grow — fields of it, blooming year after year, carrying the scent of both sorrow and protection. The people built their town there, never knowing the flowers were born from a curse and a broken heart.
My Parents had inherited that curse by pissing that male ancestor off cursing the family to be werewolves except for me to be there downfall if they treated me wrong. I never had any hunger cravings but , I did have the smartness of a fox and the cunning nature to play along. I learned early to move quietly, to let them think they were in control. I smiled when they expected fear, obeyed when they demanded submission, and hid my thoughts behind a mask they could never read. My grandmother — the only one who knew the truth — would tell me, 'The fox doesn't need to bare its teeth to win. It waits. It watches. And when the time comes, it strikes where it hurts most.' Of course I was very kind and often grumpy at times in school I was called "the quiet kid" whatever that meant who knows.
When I was 12 years old I was left abandoned in MT Silver the haunted Mountains bloody and bruised with a badly sprained knee knee I did not know was broken until later. I only had a white hoodie and grey sweat pants and worn boots not clothes to survive in the mountains with. I did not think I would survive but, something or someone saved me after being passed out for 24 hours in below 0 temperatures. I never figured out how but, maybe I will figure out who and why they saved me.
((Here is information on the ainu that i looked up: The Ainu are an indigenous people primarily from Hokkaido, northern Honshu, and historically the Kuril and Sakhalin Islands. They are believed to descend from the Jomon people, an ancient hunter-gatherer society that inhabited Japan around 14,000 years ago. The Ainu have a unique language, animistic religious practices, and cultural traditions such as tattooing. Despite centuries of assimilation pressures, they have maintained a distinct identity and were officially recognized as indigenous by the Japanese government in 2019))
