Chapter 1
Darkness...
And more darkness...
Until WHAM!
...
A crash onto the hard checkered floor was a newcomer. In a panic, he stands and looks around, seeing a bunch of cartoon like characters surrounding him and staring him down.
"Oh look! A new person!" A sock puppet like creature shouted in excitement as she wiggled her legless body in a spuractic motion. The weirdness of the situation wasn't any better when he sees the other characters in what looked like a ragdoll, a sad clown, and a checker peice character crowding him. He breathes heavy as he looks down at his hands which were now huge abnormal yellow gloves.
"Who are you people!? Where am i?"
The ragdoll strides forward slowly. And in a calm, gentle tone of voice, reassures him.
"Hey! Hey! It's okay, buddy! Calm down. Everything's okay!" She reaches her hand out to him, helping him stand up. He stands tall but hunches over. He looks down at her and then at everyone else. In a squint, he feels like he sees someone in the back. His curiosity didn't last long, though, as a set of pearly white teeth suddenly jumpscares him into falling back on his rear.
"Well hello there, new Lifeform! Welcome to the Digital circus! I'm Caine and I'm here to give you one heck of an experience!" The newcomer tilts his head in confusion. He wasn't really panicking anymore, just more confused on what he was looking at.
"Experience? What experience?? Where am i?"
Caine kicks his feet and giggles. "The Digital circus, silly Goose! A place of wonderment and joy and no stress! Carefree days and no real life problems like you use to! You're safe and mostly trapped here!"
Suddenly the ragdoll chips in."Uh-Caine, maybe don't mention the fact that he's trapped here? He could, you know...go insane?"
Caine laughs and pats the ragdoll's head with a large version of his hand.
"OH RAGATHA! Always worrying for the worse! Don't worry! I'm sure our new friend here will love his new life!"
Caine faces towards the newcomer, putting his finger to his uh...bottom gums? Chin? Chin gums? And asks him "By the way, what's your name?" The newcomer blinks. He drew a blank, he couldn't remember his name at all. He shrugs. "Uh...Jax? I guess?"
Caine laughs and spins around joyfully.
"Huzzah! Jax it is! Welcome to the Digital circus!"
And with that, Caine poofs out of sight, leaving the newcomer, Jax, alone with these new, strange people. The ragdoll clears her throat, and with her hands folded at her front. She wore a long, blue patchy dress with curly red hair and a blue bow to match. She also had one button eye. She smiles kindly at him.
"Jax is a nice name! I'm Ragatha, by the way. Welcome to the circus!" The other characters start to crowd him.
"I'm socks!" "I'm kinger!" "Uh...I'm kaufmo.." Jax turns his attention over at the sad clown, Kaufmo. "Why are you sad when you're suppose to be a clown?" Kaufmo looks down and sighs. "Because my jokes are never funny..." Ragatha grew concerned and puts her hand on Kaufmo's shoulder. "Oh Kaufmo, don't say that! You're a wonderful joke teller!'
"If you call silence laughter, then he's hilarious."
The others look behind them at another person. A rather slender frog decorated with a red bow tie saunters over, putting a hand to their hip. "Sup newcomer. Welcome to Hell."
Jax stares at the rather conspicuous frog.
"Who are you?" Ragatha laughs nervously. "Aha-thats Ribbit. Sorry about her. She can be a bit...uh..."
"Over the top? I prefer the term; wacky and goofy." She looks back at Jax and smiles. "Welcome to your new life, kid."
Jax couldn't comprehend what was going on, however, in this new environment of colors and shapes of wacky characters, this ribbit girl seemed a bit more like a good addition to his new life.
((Author's note: Hey guys! So I'm taking a break from digital fight club and writing a more slice of life fanfic this time. Idk when I'll continue with fight club, but yeah, enjoy this pallette cleanser))
