Quietness was all that was around him no one dared to speak a word as maekar stood between his father and mother as lords and the rest of house Targaryen gathered for the funeral of his grandfather prince baelon Targaryen dressed in black the color of his house. his great grandfather king jaehaerys and his aunt princes rhaenys walk forward.
"Dracarys" was all that was said from princes rhaenys as a screeching roar was hear as lords look up to see a dragon open its mouth and set ablaze the coffin of prince baelon Targaryen.
As the flames engulfed his grandfather, Prince Maekar turned to his father and leaned into his embrace, feeling the comforting presence of his son. Tears welled up in his eyes, and he let a few fall to the floor.

A few days after the funeral, King Jaehaerys himself convened a grand council to address the pressing matter of the succession of the king. Several names were mentioned during the discussion, but only two were deemed the most suitable candidates. Consequently, the lords gathered to deliberate and ultimately determine the next king or queen of the realm.
Standing once again between his parents, Maekar gazed across the room at Princes Rhaenys and her lord husband, Lord Corlys Valaryon. He stood next to his wife with a smug grin, convinced that all was settled and the throne was rightfully his.

As two figures walked forward, carrying a chest filled with the votes of all the lords, they placed it in front of the old king. The king leaned forward as the two figures opened the chest, revealing a small scroll. The king grabbed it and opened it.
"It is declared by all the lords paramounts and lords vassals of the seven kingdoms, that Prince Viserys Targaryen be made Prince of Dragonstone," the king declared as the lords clapped. As Prince Viserys himself sighed in relief, he smiled and lifted his son up. Rhaenys herself looked on in disbelief for a second before clapping.
"With prince Viserys heir to the iron throne his heir is to be declared, prince Maekar Targaryen" a man shouts as the king and his entire family look to the man in agreement.

The lords of the realm had once clapped again this one louder than the other time as prince maekar turns to his father as Otto Hightower steps back to his wife and children.
