As Murray drove away into the Upside Down leaving the army standing at the MAC-Z, Mike couldn't help but zone out. He was deep in thought about what Will had said at the Squawk, question after question popping up in his head. He wondered if Will was talking about Mike or not, He couldn't help but wonder, what if Will did like him?

The noises around him sounding distant as he gets lost in thought, replaying Will's words over and over again. Each time making his chest tighter.

"Hey, you okay?" El asks, interrupting Mike's thoughts.

He looks up, snapping back into reality as he looks at El, "Hm? Yeah I'm fine." He lies, hoping she would just drop it. He still loved El, but not like that, as he explained about a month ago when they broke up.

El tilts her head but doesn't push, still sitting next to him in the truck, she leans back and drops it.

As they make their way to the rift tower, Mike looks up to see Will talking to Jonathon. Too zoned out to hear their conversation, he just stares at him, deep in thought about if Will likes him or not.

There's something painfully familiar about the way Will pulls his sleeves over his hands, almost as if to make himself smaller. Mike didn't know how long he had been staring, but he soon realized his heart was beating way too fast for no reason.

Mike is starting to realize that he might like Will, Causing his face to get hot and turn a light shade of pink. Flustered, he looks down at his shoes, only to quickly look back up as he realizes the others are getting out of the truck. He gets up, hoping nobody notices his red face as he jumps out of the truck.

Dustin explains the teams one last time before he starts climbing the ladder, followed by Steve, then Jonathon, and soon enough Mike. Mike climbs the ladder still deep in thought as he reaches the first resting point. He takes the water bottle he had out of his bag, taking a drink before holding it, still thinking.

His thoughts are yet again interrupted as he hears someone climbing the ladder. He turns his head, only to see Will. He looks back, handing his water bottle to Will as he takes a drink.

Standing next to him, Will leans against the tower making sure not to touch the vines attached to it. Mike's face turns a slight shade of pink, the darkness in the upside down covering it.

"Hey um.. What you said earlier.. at the Squawk-" He pauses, "I-I'm sorry." He stutters, "I mean not sorry about what you said, that came out wrong.. O-or not came out wrong-Jesus Christ.." He says stuttering.

The wind rattled the tower beneath their feet, Mike regretting ever opening his mouth. For a second, he considers backing out entirely, but it's too late now.

Will Laughs a little, "It's okay-" he begins.

Mike's stomach erupts in butterflies as he hears his laugh but cuts him off. "No, no it's not okay. I should've been there for you.. A-and I wasn't. And I guess I was just so self absorbed that I couldn't see it. I just... I - I feel like an idiot and I.. I'm sorry." Mike says, his heart racing.

Will's eyes soften at how much he stuttered, but kind of wondering why he sounded so nervous. "You don't have to be sorry. And you're not an idiot, you're not." He says softly, "Besides, I think I'm the only gay person ever to come out because of an interdimensional creature so.." He says with a lighter tone, causing Mike to laugh a little.

Will feels his face heat up slightly as they both face each other, inches between them. Both Mike and Will's faces are flushed, the darkness of the upside down barely able to hide their obvious pink faces.

Mike leans in, not realizing what he's doing as he presses their lips together softly, then quickly pulling back as he realizes what he just did. They stand there, both shocked at what just happened before Mike panics, wondering if Will was okay with that or not.

The moment stretched, quiet and unreal as the realization hitting on what they just did.

"Oh my god I-I'm so sorry I didn't mean-" He says as he tries to walk away, but Will pulls him back by the arm.

Their lips crash together as Will pulls him back, gasping as his back hits the railing, Mike's hands on his waist, Will's in Mike's hair.

As their kiss becomes more intense, Mike hears someone climb up the ladder behind them.

"Hi guys.." Says a voice they recognize too well, they already hear the smirk in her voice.
