"Echoes of laughter, whispers of promises — they never really leave."

The first day at a new school always feels like stepping into someone else's story. The hallways are unfamiliar, the faces unknown, and every laugh echoes like it doesn't belong to me.

Even as I try to focus on today, my mind keeps drifting back — to the old classrooms, the shared lunches, the whispers of promises I once thought would last forever. Memories can feel strangely alive, even when the people who made them are long gone.

As I take a deep breath and step forward, I can't help but wonder: will this place ever feel like home, or will it just be a backdrop to the story I left behind?

Each chapter tells the story of a different person, and maybe our story has different views too. But this one's from my POV:

Maybe now he's across the seas, and look at me — I'm still on this land, trying to survive another year with the same textbooks from last year.

"Maybe we were meant to meet, but not meant to be."

We met, we lived, and made so many memories. I never knew these memories would just remain memories, and not moments we could live anymore.

One day we fell for each other, and the next, everything suddenly changed. We knew this mutual feeling of love, but life was cruel enough to never let us be together.

It's been almost a year since we last saw each other. Maybe so much has changed between us, but I still think of him every now and then.

"And even after all this time, I still catch myself thinking about him — and wondering if he ever thinks of me too."
