Leni is now resting in a hammock in her balcony at her house in Naga. After 3 years of being Mayor and serving as the 16th President of the Phippines she now enjoys her peaceful life, away from politics.When suddenly she heard some footsteps coming to her place.
"Sino kaya yan? Siguradong di si Aika, busy yon sa senate at sa weekend pa sabi niya uuwi, si Tricia Naman is having her vacation with her family sa US at si Jill busy rin sa work niya sa Manila."
"Ate yolly? Ikaw ba yan? Nakarating ka na galing sa super market? Ang bilis naman?"
She can still hear the footsteps approaching but no voice can be heard. She suddenly got up and turned her head and got surprised when she saw Kit holding a bouquet of flowers.
"Hello, Madam President", Kit greeted smiling.
"Kit, Ikaw lang pala. Akala ko kung sino."
"Relax, Ako lang to"
Kit approached her closer and handed the flowers and embraced her tightly.
" Alam mo para kang ano..parang di tayo nag kita ng ilang taon..eh isang buwan lang naman"
"Ang nakalipas after valentine's dinner natin at sinabihan na kita na wag nang mag abala tuwing pupunta ka dito sa Naga. At Hindi mo na naman ako sinunod"
"Hindi…"
Kit was trying to explain but Leni does not want to stop talking.
"At ito may pa flowers ka pang nalalaman. At pwede naman tayong mag video call na lng pero pumunta ka pa rin dito at wla pang kasama. Di sumasakit tuhod mo mag byahe ??Kit...Alam mo namang hindi na tayo bata."
Leni was just like a mother lecturing her child when she was talking to Kit. Their conversation may seem funny but it is also sweet. Their voices changed, they were not strong like before, their hair turns to gray, their eyes get even blurry but their love for each other never fades.
"Ikaw talaga Kit, magmula nag retire na tayo sa politika hindi mo na ako sinusunod"
"Hindi ah, si Ma'am naman, naging close in mo ako at naging DILG secretary nararapat lamang na sundin ko Ang utos mo, pero hindi naman dapat lahat."
" Ano??"
"Sabi ko dapat lahat"
And they both laughed.
"Pwede bang maupo na tayo, napagod ako sa byahe."
Kit then grab Leni's hand then help her position herself in her hammock and then he sat in a nearby chair.They are now both facing the sun as it sets.
"How is your life in Quezon city??"
"Naku tinanong mo pa, walang pinag bago.Apaka boring. nababagot na Ako don. Nong Isang araw nga gusto kong mag exercise na may equipment ayaw nang mga anak ko, baka daw ma injured ako. Yon,nag lakad lakad na lang sa sunken garden sa UP. Eh, wala namang ako makausap pag may work sila."
It's been 10 years since Kit lost his wife. Since then, Leni was his constant companion in every occasion. They were the best of friends and time may pass but their relationship gets even stronger.
"Ano kaya kung ligawan na lang kita?"
Kit said jokingly while Leni slightly punched his shoulder.
"Ayan ka nanaman sa mga biro mo. Matanda na Tayo, kuntento na ako kung ano ang mayron tayo"
"Ayan..Ayan, naniwala na naman si Madaam Pres., Of course joke lang yon.."
But in Kits heart there is some truth to it.
Kit knew all this time that for Leni its still Jesse. He constantly reminds himself not to cross the line and for 7 yrs he was able to take control of his feelings that developed over the years.
