It was pouring down rain in Nashlake and everyone seemed to be asleep. Everyone except for Victor, who was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching the raindrops fall down on the window. He stared out as his tail swished back and forth slowly, completely lost in thought. However, as he was staring, Marvin woke up.

"..mmph..Victor? What are you doing awake at this hour..? It's like 11pm." Marvin mumbled, which seemed to pull Victor out of his trance, and looked over to him. "Oh! Um..nothing, Marvin. I'm just not tired yet. Go back to sleep." Marvin sat up and moved over to him, wrapping his arms around his chest which made Victor jump a little. "Cmon, talk to me." Victor stayed silent for a moment and sighed looking at Marvin. "I..I just can't sleep. I don't know what it is, but ever since..Ralph..I haven't been able to sleep properly."
Marvin could only understand his husband's struggles, since he himself had dealt with the same thing with his sister's death back in 1955. Seeing Victor deal with that pained him deeply.
"Oh..oh honey, I'm sorry to hear that." Marvin sighed. Victor nodded looking back out to the window. "..yeah..so I'm kinda just staring at the window until I'm able to fall asleep. I don't think I might get tired until midnight, or something like that.." Marvin stayed silent before asking;

"Can I watch with you?"

Victor let out a small laugh before replying: "Go right ahead."

Victor and him both sat together and watched the raindrops fall down on the window. It was relaxing for the both of them and it was better for Victor since he really enjoyed Marvin's company. Marvin looked at Victor, watching how fixated he was on the window which he found cute. He suddenly went and kissed Victor on the cheek and Victor looked over to see him smiling at him. Victor smiled and kissed him back, this time on the lips. Marvin chuckled at this and laid down, pulling Victor along with him.

They both laid down on the bed and let out a soft chuckle with Victor wrapping his arms around Marvin's waist, pulling him closer to him. Marvin gently caressed his husband's face and looked into his eyes lovingly before kissing the bridge of his snout. "I love you, ya know that?" He cooed, rubbing the back of Victor's head. "I know, dear.." Victor replied, "You tell me that everyday."

"It's true, though." Marvin said, "I'm really happy that I married you. You've always been there for me."

"Nono, YOU'VE been the comforting one. You've helped me through the worst of times. Not only have you been a good husband, but you've been an amazing father. I do hate to bring this up, but you've gone back into the waterman household without hesitation just so you could find the kids. If that's not a reason why you're the best, I don't know what is."

Marvin was taken aback by this before smiling lovingly. Victor rested his head on his husband's chest and sighed.

"Thank you for being there for me. Honestly."

"You're welcome. Now get some sleep, okay?"

"Heh, I'll try."

They stayed like that for a while, before Victor finally was able to go to sleep. Marvin kissed his forehead before falling asleep too, both of them listening to the rain outside their window.
