That morning, I had woken up and gotten ready for the day I had forgotten I have a 6 month check up with my Dentist, Dr. Alan Feinstone who I have always had for the last 18 years. So, then I had a quick breakfast and then I got in my car and drove to my local dental practice, once I had arrived at my destination i went up to the reception desk and completed my up-to-date medical form and consent for the dentist to examine me and do any treatments as needed. Shortly once i had completed the medical form and consent form and handed it back to the receptionist and was then told to take a seat and that shortly i would be called in, I was sure that I would be called soon as the practice was empty as I was the last appointment of the day as I couldn't have gotten time off from work.Roughly about 15 mins later the dentist assistant called me in to the surgery so I placed my stuff on the empty chair and proceeded to make myself comfy on the dental chair, my dentist did a quick exam and took a couple of x-rays and located 4 badly infected teeth which unexpectedly required emergency extractions which i was made aware of so i had then given permission for them to remove and it was their policy to protect the dentists, the dental nurses and there patient's for any procedures all patients to be restrained by using a papoose board ( Which is for medical & dental settings to prevent injury, often used for uncooperative or disabled patients.)Which then i agreed mainly because i am nervous around procedures. So then next i was asked to stand whilst the papoose board was placed onto the dental chair , once it was in place then i sat back down so the dental nurse began to wrap around the lower parts of my body and worked her way up to my neck then stop and used the head wrap. Now that was done, I had opted for nitrous oxide (Also Known as laughing gas which helps to relax). the laughing gas nose pipe was placed onto my nose and once it was comftable it was secured to ensure it wouldn't move. Then my dentist turned the machine on and shortly he started the procedure but i suddenly felt sleepy and drifted of to sleep, i now know why because he put a syringe of sedation into the laughing gas so that it would give me some comfort as he didn't want me to be in pain.
