Chapter 1

- Flashback 4 weeks ago -

At night in a dimly lit room was Emrys the soon to be king, sitting at his desk, engrossed into his work not noticing the door that's being opened by his loyal knight Archer who now stands in the doorway, watching Emrys with a gentle smile.

Archer: You seem quite busy, mind if I steal some of your time or are you gonna put me in the dungeon my dear prince~

Archer had a cheeky smile placed on his face while waiting for Emrys reaction. Emrys looks up at the sound of this oh so familiar voice.

Emrys: Have you no control over your tongue, captain? Or do you want to get a personal punishment by your soon to be king?

Archer: (teasing) You make that sound like something bad Emrys. Why don't you put those books to the side and grant me some more of your attention.

Archer pushes off the doorway and slowly walks towards the window on the other end of the room after he closes the door behind him. He now stands at the window with his hands resting on the windowsill, looking into the moonlit night.

Emrys follows him with his gaze, then he stands up, ignoring the slight creaking of the chair and being mesmerized by the ethereal sight in front of him. He halts for a moment, his breath catching in his throat as the world around him slowly fades and all that's left is Archer.

Archer: ... You're staring ...

Emrys doesn't say anything, he takes a few more steps towards Archer, now standing behind him, his warm breath hitting Archer's neck. Emrys hands rest above Archers, interlocking their fingers.

Emrys: (whispering) Have I ever told you how absolutely enchanting you look in the moonlight... not that you don't look handsome all the time but right now... you could be an angel

Archer slightly turns his head, so he was able to look into Emrys eyes. Emrys stops breathing for a moment, too entranced in Archers sparkling eyes.

Archer: *gentle chuckle* Cat got your tongue? One might think I've bewitched you...

Emrys: Oh, you most definitely did bewitch me Archer... just in a different way... You turn me into a lovesick fool

Archer: So, I've already managed to capture your heart... my prince

Archer smiles, locking eyes with Emrys again.

Emrys: You had me the moment you set foot into Kremos...I'm willing to do anything for you my love, even if it meant to burn down the entire world.

Emrys eyes shimmer with passion as he gently places a hand on Archer's cheek and pulls Archer towards him, giving Archer enough time to pull away. Archer leans into Emrys touch. Kissing him with passion. Both closed their eyes, enjoying the moment. Emrys pulls away first catching his breath as he looks at Archer with love in his eyes.

Emrys: You're the best thing that ever happened to me...

Archer: Ans so are you...What would I do without you Darling?

Archer now fully turns towards Emrys giving him a gentle kiss on the forehead, smiling softly.

Archer: I love you Emrys, more than anything, more than life itself.

Emrys eyes widen for a split second, then he wraps his arms around Archer in a tight grip, burying his face in Archer's neck, inhaling Archers scent.

Archer: You know you can tell me everything love...something is bothering you, right?

Emrys looks up with a slightly troubled expression.

Emrys: ...The upcoming war with the Vespers...I don't want you to go, now I know that you're the captain and that without you the chances of winning are pretty low but please...think about it...I don't want to lose you.

Archers' expression twists into one of sadness and agony.

Archer: You know I can't do that...As you said, if I'm not there, there's a good chance we'll lose...I promise I'll come back to you alive.

Emrys: You swear? I cannot afford to lose you, you're too important.

Archer: I swear. And even if I have to travel through hell and back, I'll make it back to you.

Emrys grabs Archer's face and kisses him again.

Emrys: After this chaos is over...I want us to get married.

Archer: Yes...yes, we'll get married my dear.

Both look at each other and smile.
