Nova's POV:

I ook at all my stuff on my bed. It's a lot, and it all has to fit into my suitcase. I sigh. Ik it weren't for Zed the green zombie organizing this, I would never have one. Vampiers—there wil be vampiers. Just the thought gaves me goosebumps.

Is stuff everything into my suitcase when I feel It again. A burning sensation, a shock that makes me look up. Then I see him again. A boy my age, black hair with red straks running trough it, looking at me lovingly with his brown eyes.

'Nova, are you ready? Then we can go.' My father shouts from the kitchen.

'Yes, I'm coming!' I shout back.

I zip my suitcase closed and sigh again. I look around my room one more time to make sure I really have everything.

I throw open the car door and step out confidently. Ray, who rode with me, looks around.

'It's so...' he can't finish his sentence as a groep of black cars drives up.

The leader of the vampires steps out. I hear my father tense behind me—Eldress and he are not exactly best friends. More vampires gather around Eldress, al of them with red straks in their hair.

Ray taps my shoulder and I turn around sharply. Then I see all the daywalkers standing around me and my father. All tense, all ready to fight if necessary.

'Ray, tell everyone we're not going to fight.' Ray turns back around.

'Nova, come, let's go meet the others.' My father says. By "others," he of course means Eldress and her successor as leader.

I walk with my father toward the center of the courtyard. Eldress walks toward us. With my shoulders back and chest forward, I walk beside my father confidently. When we stand in front of Eldress, she turns around.

'Victors, what are you grinning at? Come here and meet he others.'

I follow Eldress' gaze toward the group vampires watching. Then I freeze. That's him. He's real. Tell me I'm dreaming. Is this another vision?

Victor's POV:

I laugh foolishly at Vargas, who was imitating a Daywalker. When I hear my aunt's voice, I turn toward her, still laughing, crossing my arms. Then I freeze.

Surprised, I look at the commander of the Daywalkers. Beside hem stands a breathtakingly beautiful girl—but not just any girl. The girl from my visions. The one I see in my dreams. I step toward my aunt, my eyes still on the girl.

'So we're having peace this summer?' Eldress' voice echoes trough the forest.

The commander nods. 'Yes. This summer.'

An uneasy silence follows, one no one dares to break. Then an enthusiastic voice rings out. 'Hey, they're all here already! Addison, Willa, Eliza come look!'

We all turn at the same time. In front of a cabin stands a green creature—Zed the zombie. I look back at the girl. A smile appears on her face when she sees the zombie. Her smile creates dimples in her cheeks, her eyes sparkling with joy and excitement.

The cabins are old, but decorated exactly in our style—black, red and silver. I flop onto the bed, resting my hand behind my head. I can't believe, she's here. She's real.

'Hey Victor, are you okay?' Vera stands next to my bes with her arms crossed.

'She was real.' I whisper, but Vera hears me clearly.

'Who? The commander's daughter? The one from your visions?'

I nod. 'It was her.'

Vera's eyes widen. Vargas, who is unpacking his things, freezes.

Nova's POV:

I walk outside, breathing in the scent of the forest slowly and calmly. I have butterflies in my stomach—it feels strange. I look toward the trees swaying softly with the rhythm of the wind. In the corner of my eye, I see a broad figure appear at the vampire cabin.

I look in his direction—it's him again. His hands grip the balcony railing tightly, his eyes staring at the ground. I get a strange feeling in my stomach when I see his muscles tense. I quickly look away and slowly walk down the steps toward the fire pit.

I sit on a bench with my hands under my chin, my troughs drifting away. Then I feel someone next to me—not right next to me, but I feel the presence. I look up.

'Hey,' i sat hoarsely.

He looks at me and smiles cautiously.
