"And what you write about proves your demographic, kids!" I watch Mr. Murphy as he writes our new lesson on the board.
I rest my chin on my hands as I think of every possible way to distract him and become the "class hero". I was tired of being "the good girl", it was time for a change.
I stood up abruptly and walked over to Mr. Murphy's desk. "Mr. Murphy, if you want to teach us about good writing-" I opened the website with one of my books on his computer so it projected onto the board "Then you should show them my book. We all know how I'm quite the expert writer."
I gave a toothy grin, knowing I sounded pretty full of myself. I crossed my arms smiling, waiting for my teacher's reaction. I watched him walk over to his computer, and he actually started READING my book! Out loud!
I gawked at him, unsure if I was embarrassed or impressed that he actually listened to me. After he finished reading he scrolled down to see if there were more parts to the story, but what he exposed made my heart drop into my stomach.
"Ms. Parker, it seems as though someone has written a comment on your story-" he paused, reading the comment- "Oh well that's not very nice. Please take your seat so I can continue with my lesson."
I slowly sat down, and to be honest I was a little confused. I thought I was supposed to get notifications when someone commented! And who would say something that "wasn't very nice"? My stories are perfect. Maybe they're just jealous. I mean, who isn't?
Okay so I admit I'm not that full of myself when it comes to writing, but my point still stands! Who would say something, especially something mean? Just forget about it, Marianna.
I tried ignoring my burning red cheeks and the not so quiet whispers about how much of a nerd I was. Whatever, I'm just passionate about my writing... Right?
