Liam and Kyle had always been together, both before and after the Bellmaker incident.

However, it feels like they've grown closer after the traumatic events.

Recently, they've only been able to find comfort in each other's presence. It has been especially difficult for Kyle to be alone out of fear. He always smiled when he was around Liam. He ONLY smiled when he was around Liam.

On this particular evening, Liam and Kyle were walking around the neighbourhood. It was a cool evening, the sky was dark and cloudy, it seemed as though it was about to rain soon, so the boys were in a rush to head to Liam's house.

"My house is on the other block." Liam said, quickening up his jogging speed

"Thanks for letting me stay at your place." Kyle huffed, struggling to keep up. "Can you slow down, man?"

"We have to hurry before the rain hits us!"

"Can't take a breather real quick?"

"Fine-" Right when he said that, Kyle flopped down on the grass, breathing heavily.

"You good bro?" Liam said, looking down on Kyle.

All Kyle did was raise his arm, sticking his thumb up, still panting vigorously. Laughing at Kyle, Liam flopped down next to him, staring up at the cloudy, dark sky.

"You should work out with me more man." Liam stated, looking into Kyle's watercolor eyes. He always thought his eyes were beautiful; he liked to stare at them, for they looked reminded of the sea under a storm.

"Yeah, yeah, man, I get it." Kyle replied, rolling his eyes at Liam's remark.

"Seriously though, it can be fun, plus it can help you with running away from that freaky demon lady, if we ever see the Bellmaker again."

"Dude, don't even joke about that." Kyle shivered, grabbing his biceps.

Liam noticed and took off his jacket and covered the 2 of them with it. They laid there quietly, shoulder to shoulder, slowly starting to warm up.

"Thanks..." Kyle muttered, shyly looking away.

"No problem bro." Liam replied, smiling, staring at the boy looking away from him.

Discreetly, Kyle reached out and brushed his hand against Liam's. Liam noticed and decided to grab Kyle's hand, fingers intertwined.

It was then that Liam stood up, pulling Kyle to his feet and grabbing the jacket that was once covering the two of them. "Come on man, we gotta get to my place, look at the storm rolling in!"

Kyle blushed as Liam was still holding his hand, although he was practically being dragged along the sidewalk, attempting to run as fast as Liam was taking him.

Eventually, they made it to Liam's house, and luckily, they made it only a few minutes after it started to rain. They hurried upstairs and shut the door to Liam's room before his mom could notice them, sighing from exhaustion. Liam flopped down onto his bed while Kyle lay on the floor.

"Why do we always have to run everywhere?" Kyle huffed, looking up at Liam.

"It's faster." Liam stated blankly.

"Well, no duh, but walking is perfectly fine."

"You just need to run more, then it won't seem so bad."

"Bleh, no thanks."

Liam laughed, rolling onto his stomach, leaning on the edge of his bed to look down on Kyle, smiling softly when they met each other's gaze.

"Let me get you a change of clothes, we were rolling in the grass after all." Liam said, standing up and walking to his closet.

"It's okay, you don't have to-" His words were interrupted by one of Liam's shirts being thrown in his face.

"SORRY, but get into that. I prefer when clean clothes are worn in my bed." Liam said, turning back around and walking into the closet to change.

Kyle turned red at the thought of sharing Liam's bed, but reluctantly changed into the clean clothes Liam threw at him.

After about five minutes, Liam came out of the closet and tackled Kyle, pushing him onto the bed.

"What the heck man!" Kyle shouted, trying to wriggle out of Liam's hold.

Liam just laughed, letting go of Kyle and rolling over to one side of the bed, looking back at him.

"'You wanna play Mario Kart?" Liam said, grinning at Kyle.

Kyle sighed, looking up at the ceiling. "Dude, I'm tired, I don't want to do crap." He said, resting his arm over his eyes.

"Booo." Liam grabbed his pillow, slamming it against Kyle, laughing at his shock. "Well then, I guess we'll just sleep, you lazybones." Liam said, pulling a blanket over them. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight..." Kyle said softly, staring up at the ceiling. He didn't exactly want this night to end. He was busy thinking about when they were lying on that random person's lawn, staring at the stormy clouds in the sky, and how he tried to hold his hand. Did Liam only hold his hand to pull him to his feet? Did he feel the same way Kyle felt about him? Are they really.. Just friends?

Mind racing, Kyle hesitantly wanted to try again. After about a minute, he slowly reached out and brushed his hand against Liam's.

Liam noticed this, and decided to intertwine his pinky finger with Kyle's to see if this was really what Kyle wanted, and in return, Kyle grabbed Liam's hand completely, rubbing his thumb in circles on the back of his hand.

Neither of the boys could see the huge smile on both of their faces, and they fell asleep that night happier than ever.
