Hidden deep within Japan was a small town in Hokkaido, named Monbetsu. The fresh and pure scent of the trees filled the air in every street. In the center of our town was an All Might statue, one we all admired and respected, but more than that it inspired us, inspired me.
At first, people lived peaceful and monotonous lives; going for a swim in the Tsakakashi River, attending school down by the mountain side, even enjoy a pot of beef stew with your close family. It was full of tranquility and acceptance.
Yet, slowly but surely, things started switching their pace.
At the beginning, they were simple small robberies against the town's small convenience store, just a couple of thugs with nothing better to do. Then things escalated. Heinous crime scenes would pop up almost every morning in our local news. Child hostages. Assault. Murder,
After the sun hid from the sky, the town would fall quiet, no one in sight, no one but the evil that lurked within us.
Lives were ended, innocence was stolen, corruption prevailed.
Children were kept from leaving their homes, worried mothers would coddle their children at the sound of the familiar uproar.
Many filed complains, yet no one answered. Leaving us to fend for ourselves.
At just 6 years old I learned the customs of the world, learned the villainy that robbed us of our happiness.
At just 6 years old I saw the true darkness and stench that we all ignored.
I'll put an end to that darkness, I'll be the hero that protects those who are in trouble. The light that shines in our society.
At just 6 years old, I manifested a quirk unlike any other in my family, a mutation. Enhancer, with my power I can absorb or amplify my aura to godlike levels. The embers of my quirk were weak, feeble, I was a total novice with my power, no one to guide me.
Nonetheless, for the past 9 long years, I have trained my body and mind to be capable of managing my quirk, and being able to defend others and myself with or without it. All in preparation for one day.
The UA entrance exam. Once I get into UA, I'll be a hero just like the hero in that statue, All Might. A hero that protects others and brings peace.
Except things won't be that easy.
