Belleville was a greatly unfamiliar place to Frank Iero, seeing as he had just moved here that very weekend. He wasn't particularly looking forward to his first day at the local high school, St. Matthew's academy, but he wasnt dreading it either. He hoped that by the end of the day he would make at least some friends, as he, surprisingly, was quite a social person, if he would say so himself. Except there was one problem; this was a whole different state. He did not know whether the residents of this pathetic excuse for a town were quite as unfriendly as he had imagined, but frankly, he didnt want to find out really.

Friends weren't a problem for Frank. The problem was that he did not know anyone or anything about this place, and hell, for all he knew, this might've been some crazy cultist town where he would be sacrificed to satan himself upon sight.

But all of his overthinking was quickly forgotten as he made his way from the rusty old house that his mother insisted on buying without even checking it out beforehand. Who even does that? "It's fine, the guy said it's still standing from like 1867 or somethin'. Surely it'll withstand us" was her excuse, not that Frank didn't agree at first, but seriously, look at that ruin.

Only as he felt the chilly breeze swish over him, had he realized that he was already standing in front of his new school, and damn was it big. Okay, Frank was more of a city guy, so it felt unnatural to see a school have this much land, compared to the single building that was his old school. He finally made his way through the school entrance, he could almost already tell by the state of the place that St. Matthews academy was gonna be absolute hell.

His ears seemed to have exploded with the noise, not to mention the amount of kids running around the whole place, chasing eachother in some game of drunk tag. The younger kids at school always pissed him off, because who even has that much energy at 7 in the morning? Luckily enough, the bell rang only after a few minutes, and Frank got to skip half of his first period in the headteachers office while getting his timetable. Although, after sitting through French with absolutely zero knowledge on the subject, he had already decided languages were obviously not his strong suit (along with many other subjects). The bell rang as he was finally released from second period, history. (in his personal opinion, the most useless subject ever. When will he ever need to know how many wives some old British king had?) And well, Frank wasnt a big fan of school food, so instead of heading to the crowded cafeteria where everyone else seemed to be going, he made his way to the library.

Unfortunately for him, though, he was rudely interrupted by a small commotion around the corner. Careful not to be spotted, he crept to the edge of the wall just close enough to hear what was going on. Then he heard the muffled words, "...will have to tell them your precious little secret" in an obvious mocking voice, followed by a punch, and then laughter. Frank froze. He didn't have much context, and certainly couldn't form much of an opinion much on what's good or bad most of the time, but he knew then that this was definitely the latter. He had seen enough school fights in his time (and even been in some) to distinguish bullying from banter. Just then, he heard footsteps coming his way and ran under the staircase, trying to not make any noise. He only moved when he was sure that the footsteps were gone, and quickly jogged to the corner where it happened.

Right there, standing with a busted lip, was a girl. And a pretty one at that.

For several seconds, no one moved. There was a moment of silence as Frank stared blankly at the goddess standing in front of him, wondering just how he had ended up in this situation, because it seemed like the world stopped spinning for this moment, everything happened in slow-mo as all the background noise faded into the abyss. He shivered slightly from goosebumps rising up his whole body. He had completely forgotten about his previous question, who were those people? They were obviously bothering her, but he just couldn't wrap his head around the idea of someone wishing to inconvenience this beauty. That's impossible. Then, his eyes seemed to get more focused as those several seconds had passed, and Frank found that maybe staring at this beautiful girl for that long wasnt so polite. He swallowed.

"O-oh, im sorry i- uh- my name is Frank. Frank Iero." Gosh, he thought, of all times to stutter, why now?

The girl eyed him for a second, her face looking flabbergasted, holding her breath, before answering, "Illi. Illi McMillin."
