The good ending

1 year after the death of lord Saito

It's been just about a year since the blade of the infamous onryō struck down the great Lord Saito. Where is this infamous onryō right now? Well, of course, most people never knew the onryō's real name, except for the people closest to her: her brother, niece, oyuki, and her husband. (y/n) (L/n), he'd stuck with her though her entire journey of the yotei six, (y/n) was a doctor so he was of use to Atsu at the time so of course she took him,  no other reason. Without him, she most certainly would have bled out after her fight with the snake. However, Atsu never thought she'd fall for..well anyone. It was always an afterthought she didn't care about and Atsu's view of people was rather harsh to say the least, but despite all that, all the times she'd yelled at him, threatened to let him bleed out if he was caught in the crossfire, and that she'd kill him he was screwing with her. He stayed and he stayed without complaint.

Currently, Atsu and (y/n) were preparing for the arrival of Jubei, Kiku, and Oyuki. They both had big news for all of them. Even though Oyuki wasn't blood-related she was still family to them which was something Jubei had to come to terms with. (y/n) was doing an inventory check before he started to boil the pot for dinner, "Alright do we have dashi, miso paste, tofu, dried wakame seaweed, and green onions?", "It's all there dear." Atsu said while she had her hands on her Pregnant stomach which wasn't quite noticeable yet, "what do you think they'll say when we tell them", (y/n) chuckled at his wife, "I think Jubei and Kiku will be ecstatic as for oyuki she might honestly freeze up just "thats nice" or something like that" (y/n) said with a light chuckle and Atsu had a chuckle of her own, "oh like you did when you found out", "hey now you had just came back from yari fishing with Mikage  and said "hey (y/n) by the way I am pregnant" what was i supposed to say" Atsu chuckled but didn't give a response to him, she always found amusing when he would try to over explain himself like didn't trust him"

"We still have sake right?" (y/n) asked Atsu, "I don't think so, I remember us drinking it all then I ended up pregnant", " A simple "No" would have sufficed Atsu", "when have I ever been simple" (y/n) sighed but it quickly turned into a smile, "If I run to the Inn across the river, I can get some more. Can I take Shimaki?" Atsu raised an eyebrow, "Yes, but why not go to the one you see from the house?", "Well, they don't have the  sweet milky sake that I like" (y/n) said to Atsu, "sake is sake you know" Atsu replied looking at him, "Wouldn't you at least like to have sake?", "I can't have sake," Atsu said, pointing at her stomach. "But I can" (y/n) said riding off to In with Shimaki. "How did I get stuck with him" Atsu said while Mikage lay around on the porch, "I should probably start the fish soon"

Timeskip (1 hour)

(y/n) had finally returned home 4 jars of sake and a very unpleased look on his face which made Atsu smile, "aw whats wrong my love did they charge you too much for your sake" (y/n) rolled his eyes "two hundred coin for 4 jars, thats 50 jars each", "yeah well that's pocket change for us, they're here and waiting and us. I had to get the miso soup ready while you were gone" this made (y/n) rush into their house to see jubei cooking the miso and a katana with 5 salmon scoured on it ready to be cooked, "No need to worry my love, I know everybody doesn't want me to cook" Atsu said with attitude while she sat crisscross at her spot at the table. "Greetings (y/n), how have you been? She hasn't given you too much trouble, has she?' Jubei asked "Nothing that I can't handle", "You sure? The wolf isn't easy to tame" Oyuki chimed in, "What did I do to all of you" Atsu said as Kiku tried not to laugh, "Kiku I can see you laughing"

After the salmon was done, dinner was ready,  Kiku and (y/n) both helped serve everyone a serving of miso soup and a tray of cut-up salmon. After that was done, Kiku poured cups of sake for everyone until she got to Atsu, "Pass on me Kiku, I am having tea." Kiku just smiled and kept pouring cups. Jubei raised an eyebrow, it was odd to him, Atsu always drank sake and she sure as hell didn't drink tea freely, "Is there something wrong Atsu, you never pass up on sake. especially the good kind?", "Usually I would brother, however, due to recent circumstances I can not drink sake" Atsu said as Jubei still looked confused but Oyuki immediately picked up on it, "Atsu? Are you pregnant?" Oyuki asked as Jubei chuckled "Oyuki that absurd, Atsu wou-", "I am" Atsu said as Jubei looked shocked and Kiku cheered "COUSIN" with her face full of salmon. "You look surprised Jubei', "among other things, were you planning this ?" Jubei asked her, "the dinner and reveal? Yes, having a child? No, Me and (y/n) got a little too deep into the sake cabinet and here we are". Jubei chuckled "That's Atsu" he said while Oyuki and Kiku were eager for details "How long are you ?", "About a month and a half" Atsu said as Kiku was ecstatic, "what about names we wanna know names" Kiku asked  "Takezo if it's a boy" Atsu said, "and Yone if it's a girl" (y/n) said. "After mother?" Jubei asked, "Of course I like it and so does Atsu." The rest of the night was pretty peaceful. In the morning everyone left as Atsu and (y/n) waved them off, "We're going to the hot spring one last time before I can't climb anymore or sit in anything too hot"

(y/n) And Atsu both sat in the hot spring as Atsu reflected on whatever came to her mind, "What are you thinking about my love?" (y/n) asked her. "You. How you've been with me through so much through the entire journey of the yōtei six and you were even with me before that, it makes me think of how perfect you are for me, the only person that has seen me at my highs and lows and makes me realize that I don't say it enough but (y/n), I love you" she said to him feeling a bit in embarrassed at how vulnerable she got "And I love you my stubborn wolf of a wife"

(A/n): This is something I really wanted to write but didn't wanna waste the energy on a full story for. But hey if it gets enough views and requests I'll do the full story
