The purple light continued to swirl around me, my eyes, never able to quite blink, were heavy almost frozen on the now lifeless corpse in front of me. His navy blue coat now soaked with blood still looked pristine in the parts that weren't covered. He was a younger man with what I would consider handsome features. I plunged my second blade in the wet sand near the corpse, ripping out my first blade with ease, slowly wiping the blood to expose a blade more moon silver then the floating rock itself. I wondered slightly what had happened here, my memory was always sort of mushy and disorganized. I mean I had obviously killed this boy, but what was it for?
"You do not have to think or remember." a metallic static voice purred from behind me.
"Nghnnnn uhhhhh..." I forced out of my mouth not quite remembering why I could no longer talk or had I been talking? I quickly turned around and gazed sideways at the figure of a massive man. His armor glistened from what little sunlight poked through the grey, dark red in color but absolutely clean. I made my way to his face, pale white the absence of any color as if he was wearing a mask.
"You have done a great service to me and my cause Storte." he gestured towards an alluring bright violet portal. "You shall return with me to the castle for a debrief." his electric voice purred.
I nodded slowly not entirely sure what my debrief would even be. The unnatural hum of the mans voice instantly relaxed me as if it I might know what who it was I was speaking too. I knew, for some reason or another, that I had to do whatever this man said.
"Go on." The electric voice hummed somewhat more firm then he had been at the start.
Before I could tell my legs to walk I was already marching towards the portal. I turned back to face the man before stepping through. His silk black hair caught the light even more gracefully then the blood red armor. I stepped through the portal immediately all my aspirations fading, as if deep down everything would be ok. Then a sharp blackness enshrouded my mind and I felt myself collapse.
"Captain!" Thomas yelled to me from atop the crows nest. "The ships prow cannot take the impact of another batterin!"
"Hold strong and prepare for a final blow!" I said knowing it may be my last as captain of the Red Seagull. My young quartermaster Thomas fell from the crows nest and landed lightly in front of me giving me a nod. "We can attempt to board the bastards and fight em dry!"
"Aye Captain!" the crew shouted I tried to look at all of there faces. This purple hue blurred everyone's face but my quartermaster Thomas. Suddenly everything froze but him.
"You died here." The now flickering image of Thomas said "That was long ago, you serve me now, a greater purpose of course. You needn't cling to these memories no more Klaus Storte. The voice began to relax me and I felt my complacency fold in me the memories fading. Thomas or whoever this was was no more what stood there now was my master.
"Yes come now my plunderer your debrief was a success." The electric voice cackled. "Rest now in your quarters."
"Nghhh." I barely muttered shaking my head slowly up and down. Not quite remembering what I had needed to debrief about or what the hell a debrief even was.
"Rest!" The electric voice boomed purple light tearing towards me hitting me like a warm spring breeze. My eyes closed but an actual memory filled the blankness.
"Redddd Seagull?" I actually got out before the purple haze knocked me the rest of the way out I saw the white face of my master shake his head never changing a muscle on his face.
