A little bit of information: Claudia survived. So did Madeleine. And when Lestat finally told Louis the truth about what had really happened that day—every lie, every omission, every desperate act meant to protect or to punish—they found their way back to each other far more quickly than anyone expected. Years passed, and Louis began uncovering the tangled remains of his mortal lineage. One by one he tracked down family members who were fated to die young—victims of a curse placed upon Grace's daughters generations ago. With every new discovery came the same desperate plea:
"Lestat... please. Save them."
And Lestat, who could deny Louis nothing, did.
Elisée was the last to be turned. She loved her family with fierce devotion, but something in her still felt hollow, incomplete—an ache for a kind of love she had never experienced. A love that was hers alone.
Two years later, with her vampiric senses sharpened and her hunger under control, Louis and Lestat made a decision. After learning of a peculiar academy a school designed for outcasts and enigmas—they enrolled their children at Nevermore Academy. They told themselves it would be good for them.
For Elisée, it would be her first time attending any school at all.
And, of course, it wouldn't be a proper school year for the de Lioncourts without a bit of chaos trailing behind her siblings. Trouble, it seemed, was a family tradition.
But for the first time in her undead life, Elisée didn't mind. Because this time, she hoped, trouble might lead her exactly where she needed to be.
