Ritsu Kageyama was sitting at his desk, writing down the notes on the board his teacher had written on it. He couldn't care less about what the teacher wrote. He was only writing it down for his parents sake. He'd recently turned 11 and his parents insisted that he must pay attention in school now to secure his future. Ritsu honestly could care less about any of this.
Suddenly the bell rang, signaling that school was finally over. Students were packing up their things wanting to be the first to leave the school.
"Make sure to read chapters 5-9 in your books for homework over the weekend!" The teacher announced. Ritsu was about to leave the room when he felt a hand touch his shoulder. "Kageyama, did you forget? Today is your turn to clean the classroom." She told him with a gentle smile.
Ritsu smiled back. "Oh I'm sorry, it slipped my mind!" Ritsu felt like he was dying keeping up the honor student facade. He hoped his annoyance wasn't showing on his face.
"It's okay Kageyama," she let go of his shoulder. "Have a good weekend Kageyama!" She said walking to the exit.
"You too!" He winced, that sounded way too fake. He waved her goodbye until she was out of sight, his face immediately dropping from the previously joyful one he had earlier. Usually two students would clean the room but unfortunately he volunteered to do it by himself a couple days ago, thinking it'd give him some quiet time, he regretted it now. Turning his direction back to the class he mentally groaned. The classroom was left in disarray. The teacher didn't even erase the board after class.
He put his book bag down and rolled up his sleeves, sighing. He observed the room again, deciding to start with the desks. For some reason not all of the chairs were on top of the desks and if he was gonna sweep and mop the floor later he was going to need to put the chairs up. He walked up to one of the desks in the front and started picking up chairs. This'll take awhile, Ritsu thought.
He was finally in the back row. There was one more chair right next to his desk. Walking up to the last one he grabbed the chair and noticed there was something beside the desk, a book. Ritsu set the chair back down, grabbing the book. A manga Ritsu realized. He read the title Sasaki and Miyano? He continued to inspect it for a bit. The cover had two boys on it, The taller one had orange hair while the shorter one had blue. He opened the book and read; This book belongs to Shiratori Sakura. Was written on the first page. Doesn't Sakura sit here? I'll just put it in my bag and give it back to her on Monday. He walked towards the front of the room unzipping his bag, putting the book inside his bag to go back to cleaning.
Two hours later, Ritsu was finally finished. He grabbed the straps of his bag, lifting it up. Walking to the door he looked back to make sure he didn't miss anything. Chairs are all up, the chalkboard was clean, desks were tidied, floor swept and mopped. He closed the door, walking to the shoe lockers to switch out his shoes.
Ritsu was bored. It was Saturday night and he didn't have anything to do. He finished his homework Friday night and already ate dinner. He could have bothered his brother but he was doing homework. Currently Ritsu was laying on top of his bed thinking of what he could do. He could read the books he had in his room, but he already had all the information in them memorized. Honestly, Ritsu could care less about the information in the books. It was just more things for him to memorize.
He decided to clean out his book bag, not remembering the last time he cleaned it out. He took everything out, his notebooks, pencil case, textbooks. He thought there was nothing less, but felt one more thing and saw what it was. The book Sakura left. Inspecting the book again he read the blurb on the back of the book. What's a yaoi? Ritsu never really read manga, he only read it when Nii-san would recommend him one. He didn't know many terms or genres; most of the time he read books for math, science, Japanese, or history so this was new to him. Putting his stuff back into his bag he decided to clean the bag later. He sat at his desk and started reading the book.
