Seat partner

It all started with chaos.
Clothes all over the floor, books that were supposed to be on the study table laying near her shoes,

And Her.

Ms. Sophia Laforteza laying her body half on her bed and half swinging mid-air.

It was 8:30 in the morning, her alarm buzzed for the fourth time to wake her up for her classes. But, she was still sleepy.

When she finally gathered up the  courage to get ready for her worst subject's lecture she was already late.
20 minutes late!

"Oh god ,oh god ,oh shit! Why don't you wake up on time sophia?" talking to herself like this is gonna help her get her 20 minutes back.

Well she reached her class to attend her Biology lecture of 9 at 9:30.
She opened the door of her class and boom CENTRE OF ATTENTION.

Everyone looked at her like she was a  criminal who ran out of  jail and they have to call the cops.

"Sophia"
Her professor called her name out loud.
"You are late again!"
He yelled at sophia and her friend circle was feeling bad for that.

Sophia quickly glanced at them sitting in the right corner of the class in the pairs of two.
She looked at them like she was asking them to help her out but they couldn't do anything.

The professor finally gave sophia the permission to sit in his class.
"One day I will sue you Mr.James"
She whispered under her breath.

She reached her the place belonging to her just in front of Megan and Yoonchae.They glanced at her with pity like they were asking her to calm down.

Behind their seat was Lara and Manon, casually leaning over each other and you could tell by looking at them that none of them came for knowledge, just for attendance.

As sophia settled herself on her seat,
alone, free to move on the whole desk, and with zero attention,

Mr.James had announced a new student to their class.

"Okay everyone, pay attention we have a new student in our class."

He said that while glancing over to the girl with dark black, thick curly hair.

She had a white Hoodie on with black baggie pants and sneakers.

"Daniela, please stand up and introduce yourself to the class."

Daniela is her name and her smile,
Unforgettable.
She stood up with confidence and waved to the class.

"Hi everyone, This is me Daniela.And I am here to study Medical. I hope I won't be bullied for being a new student."

The whole class was left with open mouths.

Except sophia, she was so lost in admiring Daniela's smooth jaw line her dark curly hairs, her sharp eyeliner and....

And her voice.
It felt like she was hypnotized by her.

Mr. James saw sophia, completely lost he called out her name.

"Sophia"
"Don't you have notes pending for this class?"

No reaction from sophia.

He called her again.Voice harsh and angry this time.

"SOPHIA!!"

She immediately turned to look at the board.

"Where are you LOST?!"

"I am sorry Mr.James."

He ordered Daniela to come and sit with sophia as Daniela was really really good in Studies.
 
"Daniela I am changing your seat and making you sit with sophia."

She didn't even flinch. Didn't even argue like why me sir? Or I don't want to sit with her.

She started walking with her bag on her left arm and her coffee in her right hand.

She peacefully came and sat beside sophia.

Neither a Hi nor a hand shake.

"Daniela, can you do me one favour?"
She stood up hearing her name.

"What is it Sir?" Voice calm and natural.

" Can you please teach sophia Biology? She is a bit weak in it."

For the first time Daniela looked at sophia. Eyes sharp enough to make sophia get chills down her spine.

She answered with a sharp voice. "Only if she actually wants to study and will co-operate with me."

Professor was really Nice with her and he appreciated her helping nature.

After 15 minutes the class came to an end. As soon as the bell rung, sophia started to pack her things up.

Daniela was still calm. Sophia was able to feel her warm even when the had a distance between them

Sophia kept on stealing glances over Daniela.

And finally Daniela spoke to her not with attitude or arrogance just with her natural tone.

"Okay. So now that we are seat partners and I have to give you tuition for Biology we decide the timings from now onwards."

Sophia glanced at her. Slowly, gently.

"Yeah sure."

She said with a bright smile on her face.

"Hmm.. so firstly you have to be on time for the class so that you don't miss anything and secondly we will be having our tuition sessions in the evening at 4."

Sophia was fascinated by her and nodded slightly.

Behind them were sophia's friends looking at them, confused and happy at the same time thinking that even sophia got a seat partner and their group is completed.

Daniela said those words and left without looking back.

And she was gone in the crowd.

Sophia was still lost.
She was still repeating the moment their eyes met.

She couldn't stop thinking about her.
