Am I delusional?

It was one of those rainy and windy October days here in Los Angeles California. That one weather I hoped would never leave but also pass immediately. I was waitressing at the job I've had for years which no one really comes to anymore, except for when they're too tired and want that cheap wine we basically illegally sell due to it's unrelease back in 2013. I don't even know how we still have it, how it never runs out. We've had the same bottle for years and it seems still more than half-full.

I watch as my regular comes into the diner.
She basically keeps this place in business since she's really the only one who comes in to actually eat and not just drink her problems away.

It was my best friend, Elena. She's basically also pays my rent with this damn tips of hers.

"Hey Elena! Usual?" I ask as I do everyday. Her daily visits are the only thing keeping me going to not give up on working in this dump.

"Y'know me so well!" Elena exclaims as usual. Something I've gotten very used to in these past 8 years of working at this barely known place.

I already knew she was coming, so I had already had it pre-made five minutes before she arrived.
"Here ya go. One turkey sub and a black coffee."
I smiled fondly, handing her the dish at the table.
Elena takes a bite, her eyes closing in mock satisfaction.

"This tastes... Just as shitty as it does everyday. I love it." Elena says, a grin on her face I love to see.

"I'm glad. It means they made it right." I giggle at her, my smile never fading.

"Wait...someone actually works back there as a cook? I thought it was just an ogre." she says, her own smile widening at my giggles.

"He acts and looks like one." I smile wider as I hear the chef from the back call out.

"I heard that! That's rude! And my name is Ralph!" he calls out, stepping out from the back room where he cooks. He's not anywhere near looking like an ogre. He's kinda got that twink vibe and muscular build.

"Were just joking Paul!" I say sarcastically, deliberately using a whole other name to provoke a reaction. And over the years, Ralph has gotten used to our teasing. It's just us three, our little trio.

"Gem's!" Ralph calls out with mock annoyance.
"Enough." he crosses his arms, a small fake and
playful pout on his lips that twitch up into a smile.

"So, how's the kids?" I giggle, even more teasingly.
"Dude! I don't have kids!" Ralph looks exasperated at my constant teasing while Elena is rolled out in her booth giggling maniacally as if were the funniest people in the world -which in this case, we totally are.

Our laughs continued for a whole ten minutes before someone had walked into the diner.

It was a guy and a girl. The girl seemed younger than the guy but that wasn't really the point.

Elena leaned over, still chuckling while whispering "who's that? And why would they be at this shitty place?" she asks genuinely curious on why someone would be at this place.

I shrug, muttering something about not being paid enough for this as I get up to do my job as waitressing.

"Hey, welcome to... Whatever this place is.
Pick a booth and I'll be right with you." I was unaware it was Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas.

In this case, I don't really care who it is. I just want them in and out.

"Okay, thanks." The man had said, a small smile on his face as I still didn't recognize them as the most iconic brother and sister duo. They pick a booth next to a window and I grab a pen and small pad of paper to take their order on.

Ralph and Elena still giggling like idiots, and they recognize who Billie and Finneas are while I'm oblivious.

I hand them both a menu, limited options on it but there's a few. Spaghetti, sandwiches, soup, salad, meats, and a few vegan choices no one has ever ordered. I give them a few minutes to review the menu before ordering, glancing over at Elena and Ralph and mouthing 'What's so funny?', not knowing they're laughing at me for not noticing who they are. But I shake that off, watching them look through the menu until Billie breaks the silence to order.

"I'd like the burrito with whatever vegan cheese you've got, and for the drink -just a simple water."
Billie had said with a small smile on her face as I wrote it down on my pad of paper. Then I look at Finneas, which I am still unaware is Finneas.
"Anything for you?" I ask with a small polite smile, just doing my job despite not wanting to.
"Yeah. Can I just get a loaded baked potato? Nothing special. And for the drink -apple juice?"

I nod again, politely for my job. But I accidentally meet eyes with Billie. My eyes slightly widening at those beautiful blues.
"You're eyes are really pretty." I say, this time with a genuine smile. No matter how many times Billie has heard that compliment, it always has made her smile. "Thank you... I like your hair." Billie had said back. A compliment that slips, and it makes my cheeks slightly flush. I'm not very used to hearing compliments.
"This bun? I haven't even washed it in a week." I seem to have a problem with taking compliments, as I always fight against them when I'm flustered.

"That's...nice to know, I guess." Billie says, clearly suppressing a laugh at the unexpected revelation.
I stand there for a moment longer, holding that eye contact we made until I shake it off and clear my throat after realizing I was staring.
"I'll be back with your food and drinks." I walk away looking mortified at my confession. I don't know why I said that, but I did.
Elena and Ralph laughing at my predicament, looking absolutely entertained with my flustered antics as I grab their food.
