It doesn't happen often, Liam and Drew hanging out alone. Usually either Henry or Jake is with them, if not all four, but things have been awkward since the incident.
The incident, of course, being the fight between Jake and Drew.
Drew has been extra moody since then, even though it's been almost two weeks. He barely even invites them over to his cool, big house anymore! Liam's beginning to miss his friend — or, well, miss hanging out with his friend before everything turned weird.
It seems his wish was semi–granted, now, as the two were hanging out, just... by themselves. No Henry, and especially no Jake.
Drew is laying on his bed, his face buried in one of his pillows. He's been like this since Liam got there, and it's getting tiring, watching him wallow in self-pity.
"Dude," Liam pokes Drew's side. "You're being dramatic." He says.
Drew rolls over, groaning, and Liam sighs dramatically. "You're acting like your entire life ended, dude. Don't you think you're being kind of melodramatic about the whole thing?"
"It feels like my life has ended." Drew replies. Yeah, he's definitely being dramatic now. Liam snorts in disbelief, lighting shoving Drew. "You're such a baby," he murmurs. "C'mon, get up. You can't just stay in bed forever — it's depressing."
"Let me die here," Drew groans.
Liam rolls his eyes, sitting on the edge of the mattress. "You're so annoying." He says. "Seriously, the pity party has gone on long enough, man. Stop being a pussy and stop moping around." He tugs on Drew's arm. "Up. Now." He says sternly, like a disappointed parent. "We're gonna raid your kitchen and eat all your expensive snacks while you whine. That at least sounds like a lot more fun than this."
Finally, Drew sits up. "Fine," he says, running a hand through his hair. Liam grins at managing to get him up. As Drew stands up, Liam is already hurrying out of the room. "Come on," he starts. "Let's go find those fancy, rich-people-chips!" He calls obnoxiously over his shoulder.
They head to the kitchen, Liam immediately going for the pantry. Everything's organized.
"So," Liam begins, popping open a bag of cheese-flavored tortilla chips. "No offense, but you kinda look like crap." He shoves a chip into his mouth, crunching loudly.
It's true. Drew looks like he hasn't been sleeping, his hair is a mess, and he's wearing a baggy, oversized shirt with sweatpants. He's the complete opposite of his usual tidy, put-together appearance.
Drew snorts. "Gee, thanks," he says sarcastically.
Liam grins, tossing a chip at Drew's face, just to be an asshole. "Anytime," he says with mock-cheerfulness. Then his expression softens slightly, looking at Drew as he slouches against the counter top.
"So.." Liam leans forward a little, curious. "When are you and Jake gonna stop ignoring each other?"
Drew looks away. "He doesn't want to see me."
"And what about you?" Liam asks bluntly. "Do you want to see him?"
As he awaits Drew's answer, he grabs another chip and shoves it in his mouth, munching obnoxiously.
"I don't know," Drew says finally. Liam nods.
"That's bullshit," he says simply, between munches. He offers Drew the bag of chips. "Eat something while you lie to me some more."
"I'm not hungry," Drew answers quickly. "And I seriously don't know. It's weird."
Liam rolls his eyes at Drew's stubbornness. "Oh, right. I forgot how picky you get when you're all mopey like this," he mutters, finishing off a chip.
