"Collide"

1. War on Campus

Zyllin Mendoza had three rules in life:

1. Never show weakness.

2. Never lose control.

3. And above all - never, ever fall for Reyzo Dela Cruz.

He was everything she despised: loud, arrogant, infuriatingly charming. The type of guy who strutted through Saint Lucent University like he owned it. She was the president of the Student Alliance - disciplined, sharp, and respected. He was captain of the varsity basketball team - reckless, adored, and allergic to authority.

Their rivalry wasn't just school gossip - it was legendary.

They fought over event budgets.
They fought over leadership decisions.
They even fought over who deserved the parking spot closest to the main hall.

"Move your car, Dela Cruz," Zyllin said one morning, arms crossed.

Reyzo leaned on his motorcycle, smirking. "You mean your car, Mendoza? Because last I checked, that spot didn't have your name written on it."

"Give me five minutes and I'll carve it there myself."

He grinned. "That sounds like a threat."

"It is."

Everyone watching held their breath - because when Zyllin and Reyzo clashed, sparks always flew.

Everything changed when the university board announced the National Leadership Summit.
Both Zyllin and Reyzo were chosen to represent the school - together. One week. Same hotel. Same team. Same air.

The universe clearly had a cruel sense of humor.

"I'd rather share a room with a snake," Zyllin muttered when she saw Reyzo's name on the partner list.

Reyzo just laughed. "Relax, Mendoza. I don't bite."
He paused, leaned in closer. "Unless provoked."

She pushed past him, cheeks burning - with anger. (Definitely anger. Probably.)

The first two days were war. They argued over everything - from speech outlines to who should present. Zyllin's perfect composure cracked, and Reyzo's teasing grew sharper.

But somewhere between the late nights of planning and shared silence in the hotel lobby, things started to shift.

He noticed how she tapped her pen when nervous.
She noticed how his laughter sounded softer when he wasn't showing off.

And for the first time, Zyllin wondered if maybe she didn't hate him as much as she wanted to.

It happened during a thunderstorm.
They were trapped in the hotel's rooftop lounge, power flickering, the city lights below dim and distant.

Reyzo, usually loud and careless, looked strangely thoughtful.
"You ever get tired?" he asked quietly. "Of pretending you've got it all figured out?"

Zyllin hesitated. No one ever asked her that.
"Maybe," she admitted. "But people expect me to be perfect."

He smiled faintly. "You don't have to be. Not with me."

Her heart stuttered.
And for the first time, Reyzo Dela Cruz didn't look like her enemy - he looked human.

The rain poured harder. The silence deepened. And before she could stop herself, she whispered, "You're not as annoying when you're quiet."

He chuckled. "Careful, Mendoza. That almost sounded like a compliment."

"It wasn't."

"Sure it wasn't."

After that night, something changed between them.

They still fought - but now their arguments were charged with something else.
When their hands brushed, it felt like static.
When he leaned too close, she forgot how to breathe.

And one night, after winning the summit's final competition, Reyzo found her alone on the balcony, staring at the city lights.

"You were amazing out there," he said.

Zyllin turned to face him. "Don't start flattering me, Dela Cruz."

"Who said I was flattering you?" he murmured, stepping closer. "Maybe I'm just telling the truth."

She should've pushed him away. She should've reminded him that they were enemies. But instead, she whispered, "You're impossible."

He smiled, eyes soft. "Then why can't you stop looking at me?"

The world held its breath. And then, finally, Zyllin stopped fighting.
Because somewhere between the hate and the heat - she'd fallen.

Their lips met - fierce, desperate, years of tension finally breaking.

When they got back to campus, rumors spread like wildfire.
The power couple of Saint Lucent University - the girl who ruled with logic and the boy who lived on instinct. Fire and frost. Enemies turned lovers.

They still argued. They still competed.
But now, when Zyllin rolled her eyes, Reyzo kissed her forehead.
And when he teased her too much, she pulled him closer and whispered,
"Shut up, Dela Cruz."

He always grinned and said,
"Make me"

The ride.

Zyllin glared at the motorcycle like it personally offended her.
"That thing looks unsafe."

Reyzo smirked, holding out the spare helmet. "You're welcome to walk, Mendoza. But we'll both be late."

She rolled her eyes but snatched the helmet. "If you crash, I'm haunting you."

"Deal," he said, that grin never leaving his face.

The engine roared to life, and Zyllin climbed on, stiff and reluctant. Her hands hovered awkwardly until Reyzo said,
"Hold on tight. I don't bite."

"Not trusting you," she muttered - but her arms wrapped around his waist anyway.

Wind rushed past them as they sped through the city, the world blurring into streaks of color. Zyllin could feel his laughter vibrate through his back, warm and infuriating.

When they stopped at a red light, Reyzo glanced over his shoulder.
"Still hate me?" he asked, half-smiling.

She hesitated, then smirked.
"Ask me again when we stop moving."

He chuckled. "Then I'll never stop."

The light turned green - and they took off, hearts racing faster than the engine.

When she climbed on, she sat as far back as possible. But the moment the bike moved, she yelped and instinctively grabbed his jacket - her fingers brushing against his chest.

"Relax," Reyzo said, laughter in his voice. "I've got you."

"Shut up," she muttered, trying to sound annoyed - but her cheeks burned.
Good thing he couldn't see her face behind the helmet.

The wind rushed past, her heart pounding faster than the engine. Every time he leaned into a turn, she felt herself tense - not from fear, but from how close they were.

He glanced over his shoulder.
"You okay back there?"

She swallowed hard. "Y-yeah. Just focus on the road."

Reyzo smirked. "You're blushing, aren't you?"

"I'm not!"

"Sure you're not."

He revved the engine playfully, and she groaned - burying her face against his back, hoping the wind would hide how red she'd gotten.

But Reyzo's quiet laugh told her he already knew.
